Baby Penguins Love their Mama
is a delightful look at a very busy mama of a large family of adorable grey and white penguins. And wow, is she busy! There’s always so much to do!
Each day of the week has its own chores and lessons to be done. On Monday, it’s swimming. On Tuesday, it’s sliding (who knew you needed lessons in that?). On Wednesdays, it’s waddling–which is harder than it looks. By Sunday, Mama is so exhausted that she needs a nap.
But she’s so proud of her brood. And they show her that she has good reason when they surprise her with a treat at the end, something that shows the love between a parent and child, or in this case, children.
Baby Penguins Love their Mama is author and artist Melissa Guion’s follow up to Baby Penguins Everywhere!, which was selected for The Original Art 2012 by the Society of Illustrators. Baby Penguins Love their Mama continues with adorable illustrations, including a magician’s hat, juggling balls and rainbow scarf, which add a touch of whimsy to the pages.
