Next month, I will have the pleasure of driving around town in a shiny Volkswagen Routan.
Unfortunately, I will only have it for a week. I am sure that giving it back will be very tough. There may even be tears. No, not really, I hope.
I don’t currently drive a minivan. Instead, I drive a blazer that my family of five crams into. The two car seats and booster don’t leave even an inch of extra space in the back seat. But that’s alright, I don’t mind. I have never seen myself as much of a minivan person, BUT I have a feeling that the Routan will convert me.
Next month, I will post all about my week long experience with the Volkswagen Routan. We are even planning on taking a weekend road trip to test out some of its great features like the touch screen navigation system, heatable seats, power-folding third row seats, keyless entry with remote start and rearview camera.
I hear there is a Routan boom. Parents everywhere are having children just to purchase a Volkswagen Routan. With its sleek design and wonderful features, I can see why.

VW had the *original* minivan w/ the Microbus half-a-CENTURY ago; they return to the form by dressing up a Chrysler T&C. (deep sigh) Nonetheless: 1st car I drove, 1st car I owned, 1st new car I bought – always keep a torch lit for VW.

I’m a subscriber to the newsletter, so here’s my additional entry. I tried the babymaker, by the way. It’s kind of sad, because my husband and I don’t have children and we’re not having any, for several reasons, so that’s the baby that will never be.
My second car (my first NEW car) was a Volkswagen, and the company has always had a special place in my heart. Yes, I experienced Fahrvergnügen. I hope you do, too.

Hahaha!, if I even test drove a Routan my older kids would have a heart attack and threaten me to be careful not to get pregnant! I personally think the six I have is more than enough!! This is a great giveaway though. (I did look at the Routan though….)

I’m not commenting to enter – my husband works for the VW corporation, so I’m sure I’m not even allowed to enter these kinds of contests!. 🙂 Just wanted to say that I hope you have fun in the Routan! We’ve had ours for three weeks and we have really enjoyed it. We just got back from a trip, and with 5 kids ourselves, we really put it through the ringer. Have a great time with it!

I find the Volkswagon Routan ads both sexist (women–only women–are so silly they’ll get pregnant just to buy a car!) and offensive to people dealing with infertility.
This campaign has lowered my opinion of both the VW brand and Brooke Shields.
