Kristen from Mama’s So Called Life is doing a series on anorexia from a personal, first hand perspective.
I have seen the devastating effects of eating disorders on so many young lives. Watching a loved one starve themselves is torture and trying to understand how someone can do this to themselves can be so difficult and frustrating. I find hearing a sufferer’s story can help us so much to understand how this disease can take over, distorting a person’s reality and robbing them of their life.
I think Kristen’s story will bless all of us who read it. Thank you Diana for letting us know she was posting on this important topic this week.
edited to add: Kristen’s Mom Dawn is posting her perspective as well. What a rare gift to have both stories. Don’t miss this.

Thank you for this link . . . it’s been a wonderful read! Amazing really.
Anorexia is a terrible thing. Good post. Also, thanks for dropping by.
I appreciate the honesty of both of these women…someone..somewhere will be helped. That is the miracle of sharing healed hurts!
Thanks for this
I remember a teacher at one of my children’s schools had this, so sad
I think thats great that you guys spread the word about her series.
Thank you so much for doing this for us – it feels good to be able to do this together. It has been quite a journey!
Linked to your site from another! I’ll be back! Thanks for the link. I’m going there next!
I had a friend in college who was anorexia. I tried to help her as much as could but came to the realization that she needed a doctor. I wonder sometimes if the media plays a big part in it all. You go to the store, turn on the tv or open a magazine and there is is right in your face.
thank you for linking to this, Janice. I needed to read this.
Blessings,
Karla
So right! It’s a powerful series. Her mom is posting her perspective on it as well. Two very courageous women who deserve our thanks. And thank you for putting it out there.
On another note, isn’t this weather of ours here in the Lower Mainland nuts!!!???
As always, another inspirational lead from 5 Minutes For Mom. Thank you. I’m on my way over.
(I love what you two do here!)
