I tend to be more emotionally-based than most people. The best advice my mom ever gave me was when I was suffering particularly deeply. She came to my side, took my hand and said, “I know you feel things more deeply than most. But that means you experience greater joys than most, too!” Somehow, that gave me hope. I’ve learned to bring my emotions under control, but whenever I feel sad, I remember her advice and instead look forward to the upcoming good times!

Janean Lindner is a mom of four boys. Her oldest was involved in a skateboarding accident without a helmet and suffered a severe brain injury.
She was by his side taking him to doctor after doctor trying in vein to find help for his injuries. Just a few months later she got the dreaded call again – this time her husband was in a serious car accident 2 days before their 20 year wedding anniversary. He nearly lost his arm. The were both out of work due to the accidents and she was left to care for her son, her husband, her 5 year old who is autistic and her 4 year old. As they got closer and closer to being evicted she tried with every fiber of her being to remain positive and hopeful. She recorded her journey on her blog – http://www.justjanean.blogspot.com and continues to do so. They are homeless and live at a local hotel in Mission Viejo. I know her husband and boys would just be overjoyed to see her win a contest such as this.

I would be so ecstatic if my mother were to win this iPod. She is a mother of four adopted children. One of which is in a wheelchair due to cerebral palsy and another who has a learning disability. My mom is truly an amazing parent. She took in four children that were not hers and gave them the love and nourishment that they needed to live. They now have a great life thanks to her. She just got a divorce and is now looking to find a house to rent. She is determined to give us a better life than what we had in Foster care. Her mother died almost four years ago due Alzheimer’s disease and we are now doing a walk for this disease on Saturday. She also has Crohms’s disease. This has made her unable to work. However, she is the PTO president at my brother’s elementary school and she works her butt of trying to give that school fun family events every month. She is in the process of working on the carnival for the school; to take place this month. She works so hard at all she does. She is a very determined person. So I give her all the credit in the world for doing what she does. I really do hope she wins this iPod. All she ever talks about is having a pink iPod. It would mean a lot to her. I hope she wins. She is an amazing person.

I am a hardworking single parent of two daughters. I’m raising a teenager (which is no easy feat) and a specials needs child. My youngest has Noonan’s Syndrome, which is similar to Down’s Syndrome. I am constantly taking her back and forth to doctors and making sure she takes all of her medications every 3 hours. Despite being a struggling single parent, I have gone back to school and will receive my Bachelor’s degree this Summer. Winning one of these prizes would be an amazing graduation gift for myself.

My Story is below:
16 years and 11 months ago, in a far away city of Lafeyette, Louisiana, a golden light shined upon a new mother, Sheila Marie Cormier, as she had just given birth to a new born daughter. This daughter is I, Jamie Elizabeth Cormier, 16 years and 11 months later, to write about my wonderful mother. My mother respects all my descions but the best one was when I was a 2 month pre-mature; I was ready to be born and she respected this choice of her life within her womb, and arranged to have a C-section to have me delivered early. I was born with Severe back disorder-Scoliosis-but my mom ddn’t care- she still loved me because she is a sweet caring woman who wouldn’t stop loving her child because of some exterior imperfection, all that mattered was the internal and the internal from what she could tell was perfect. My mother is like a “super mom”: she disciplines me when needed, she gives me presents and lots of love, takes me and my friends places, gives me advice and support, teaches me important life lessons and morals, gives to charities, and does everything with a smile on her face. She Means the world to our family- without her, we would be lost. She is the brains behind the organization that is our family. She cooks our meals, she does the housework, she knows how we like everything, she is just a perfect housewife and mother. She nurses us when we are ill, she told us bedtime stories when we were young, she schedruled all our doctor and dentist appointments, pays for our screwups: car wrecks, college tuition, High School Bill,etc”. She is an active leader in the Our Lady of Mercy catholic Church youth group. We have lots of fun times: we go on family outings, we go shopping and go to the movies, we go on family vacations, we use to do Girl Scouts, etc. Our family outings included: Avery Island tour, children museum, zoo,etc.” Our Family Vacations included: Sea World, Disneyworld, Our trip to Sam Rabern, our trip to Tennessee,etc. Our Disneyworld trip was the best! Our last day at the park we won the Year of a Million Dreams castle night thing..this was my first trip to Disneyworld and my mom was so happy that she could share this with me on my first trip to Disneyworld. When we go shopping it usually good but sometimes I think I am ugly because of my back and I think I am a freak, but my mom just consoles and comforts me, she never goes “Oh suck it up! that life. Quit whining”. My mother always gives me advice; I can go to her with any problem and she’ll find a way to help me or make it better. She is not just my mother- she is my best friend, My hero, and my life. I dont know what I’d do without her. She rocks my world She deserves this because she has done more for me than words can express. When I hug her its like the world stops and its just us and nothing else- no stress or problems-no longer matter. It brings that smile back to my face just to feel her warm embrace.

hi i would love to be entered in this my family and i are going through a hard time as he got hurt on the job and broke the radial head of elbow which shut down two nerves now has rsd and carpool tunnel so hes got to have surgery and we have 4 daughters 6 yrs but challanged 4 yrs 2 and a half and 1 and a half we have had a harf yr ive had 6 units of blood 6 yrs ago a blood filled hemmeraghic cyst placenta abruption twice and retained placenta hit by 4 cars walking a roller blading accident to where i was to be dead or paralyzed or dead and the my brother n law was murdered almost 6 yrs ago the home depot assistant manager and so been rough plus theres more please see to help as we have no money and not living in the best health conditions and manager wont do anything and can someone please pull me out of deppression and low selfesteem i take verbal abuse from people and dont know how to react im going blind and just never ends god bless
