Do you ever feel like you are having one of these kinds of days? Yeah, me too.
Honestly, that’s one of the reasons I love to escape with trips to the movie theater whenever I can, especially for romantic comedies such as Admission. I’ve been drawn to the movie ever since I saw the preview months and months ago.
Well now the wait is almost over, because Admission, starring Tina Fey and Paul Rudd, is out on March 22 from Focus Features.
About the movie:
Straight-laced Princeton University admissions officer Portia Nathan (Fey) is caught off-guard when she makes a recruiting visit to an alternative high school overseen by her former college classmate, the free-wheeling John Pressman (Rudd). Pressman has surmised that Jeremiah (Nat Wolff), his gifted yet very unconventional student, might well be the son that Portia secretly gave up for adoption many years ago. Soon, Portia finds herself bending the rules for Jeremiah, putting at risk the life she thought she always wanted — but in the process finding her way to a surprising and exhilarating life and romance she never dreamed of having.
What I didn’t realize until I was prepping this post is that Admission is based on a book, one that Dawn reviewed at 5 Minutes for Books four years ago when it came out. She’s revisited the book, so be sure to check out her Books on Screen post today at 5 Minutes for Books.
And if there’s anything better than escaping to the movies, it’s definitely a free trip to the movies!

Sure I do it all the time; usually I’ve read the book and a year later or so they make a movie. I read a lot!
I do enjoy reading the book before seeing the movie. Though sometimes it’s extremely frustrating because they change things so much.
It is interesting to see how they change things from the book to the movie to create more on-screen action.
I don’t think I have ever read the book before seeing a movie.
Yes I do but sometimes I like to read the book AFTER seeing the movie because if I read the book first sometimes the movie doesn’t live up to the hype.

Yes before I see the movie
It really depends on the genre (type of book it is)
It really just depends. They can be hit or miss! I always have high hopes for movies from books but typically they miss the mark. That being said the LOTR movies and Harry Potter films are still really great!
I don’t do either enough, I don’t go to the movies or take time to read enough.
I like reading the book and seeing the movie – sometimes I’m disappointed by the movie but usually not!
Yes,I love to read the book before the movie!
Yes of courses!

That depends on whether the movie’s plot, characters, and dialogue were intriguing!
No, I usually like to read the books first.
I have in the long ago past, but not lately.
Really depends. Sometimes the movie bugs me sometimes I think they did all right.
I like to read the books first just so I can complain that the movie is not the same. LOL!
I do like to read the book before the movie. Especially ones that I don’t KNOW are going to be turned into a movie. I read the Host last year, it was really good, and it’s coming out at the end of the month. Super cool!

I do like to read books That were made into movies
Yes, but always book first. The movie gets so much more leeway if I do, because I fill in the holes in my head. I don’t think there are too many movies that have really, really done the book justice.
I love reading books that have been made into movies. Sometimes one is better than the other.
Sometimes. Often, if I have already read something, I find myself getting mad over certain changes.

Yes, I like to see how they differ.
I don’t like to read a book, then see the movie. It’s never as I pictured it while I was reading. I wouldn’t have the desire to read a book after I’ve seen the movie and know how it ends.
Books that are turned into movies can me hit and miss. I feel weird sometimes because I didn’t read the Twilight series 🙁
