Running a small business is one challenge after another. It can be ridiculously hard work.
Since I know first hand the struggles small business owners face, I go out of my way to shop and use the services of local and online family owned businesses.
My favorite local small business is a restaurant called McJac’s Roadhouse Grille in White Rock, BC, Canada.
I was already a fan of The Roadhouse when I discovered it is owned by the parents of our blogging friend Shash and her sister Lise who runs the attached Bakery.
They fortunately know about the importance of social media, and so you can find McJac’s Roadhouse online with their own website, Twitter profile and Facebook page.
But sadly many other family owned restaurants and businesses do not yet have a website.
One of the biggest challenges many owners face is marketing. To find new customers and communicate with current customers, you need a website and a social media presence.
Know a small business that suffers from No WebSitis? You can nominate them to enter the contest or vote for your favorite. Ten local small businesses will win a website from Go Daddy and you could win a $50 Visa Gift for nominating them!
