Janice here… I’m at the #DisneySMMoms conference and for disclosure I’d like to let you know my conference fee was covered by Disney, but travel and associated costs are mine, as are all my opinions, always.

Just in time for Mother’s Day, Disney honored mothers and daughters everywhere by welcoming Merida from Disney∙Pixar’s Brave, into the Disney Princess royal court.
The Disney Social Media Moms Celebration attendees and our families had the chance to experience this special ceremony at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort in front of Cinderella Castle.
The entire Disney Princess court welcomed Merida on stage and her mother Queen Elinor crowned her in a stirring and motherly moment, while gymnastics Gold Medalist and All-Around champion, Gabby Douglas, hosted the celebration along with her mother.
It was a beautiful ceremony and exciting to celebrate a strong, powerful hero as a Disney princess.
While I was taking photos, Christine Young of From Dates to Diapers, videoed the ceremony. I am so glad she did! It is so fun to watch — I just love Merida’s accent!
Are your children fans of Princess Merida? Who is your favorite Disney Princess?

We LOVED Brave (I’m waiting for the DVD to go on sale so we can get it). I think Princess Merida’s accent is awesome and the kilt scenes were so funny. It was also great to see a family movie from Hollywood – though they seem to be producing more family movies, with the release of The Croods this year. 🙂 Looks like a fun party! Thanks for sharing.
