When my first child was born, I thought I had read enough information to prepare me for most of the scenarios I thought I would encounter as the mother of a newborn. WOW, was I ever in for a rude awakening! There was so much I didn’t know! Why won’t my son sleep? Is it normal to go through 5 or 6 diapers in an hour? How can I ease his teething pain? SO MANY QUESTIONS!
The creator of the new website Mommy Polls had a similar experience as a new mom. Feeling like she was failing as a mother because of her lack of knowledge (what mother hasn’t felt like that at some point?!?), she decided to provide a FREE place online that allows Mommies (and Daddies) to ask ANY kind of question and receive quick answers or opinions about all kinds of child-rearing topics from other parents.
Mommy Polls is really easy to use. Say you want to know what kind of laundry detergent is the best to use for a kid with sensitive skin. Simply create a poll with a few choices of detergents to see which one gets the most votes! Or you can post your question in the “Questions” section of the site and get answers directly from other moms. If you prefer, you can visit the existing polls and questions from other moms to see if the answer you need is already there.
Here is the poll I created, which took me about 3 minutes to create and post:
Since there are many different polls constantly being added to the site, you might want to create your own Personal Page. Your Personal page will help you keep track of of the polls you have created, as well as allow you to keep all the polls you “follow” in one easy to access spot.
Mommy Polls also has an article section that allows parents to share their knowledge and experiences in a more in depth way. You can peruse the articles for answers to child-rearing questions, or if you have an article that you think might help other moms, you can upload it to the “Article” section.
Raising children is one of the hardest, most important jobs we have. Sometimes it’s difficult to make decisions about how best to do that job when we don’t have experience with a particular situation. Mommy Polls makes the job a little easier by providing a place online where Moms and Dads can go to share information and get real world input from other parents on anything from sleep patterns to diapers.
Take a few minutes to check out the Mommy Polls website. You might find the answer to one of your own child-rearing questions. Or maybe you can help another desperate mom find the answer to hers. Either way, you’ll become a part of a great, supportive network of moms who are happy to help each other navigate the ever-changing waters of parenthood.
I was compensated to write this promotional post for Mommy Polls. The views expressed in this post are my own.Â
