Encouragement for Christian Moms, Lifeway DotMom Event in Dallas {Giveaway}

Last spring I attended the Lifeway Dotmom event in Birmingham as a blogger guest of Lifeway. I was in a particularly busy and harried time in my life at the time, and though I was interested to meet the other bloggers who had been invited, and also to hear more about Lifeway and B&H Publishing, by the time the conference rolled around, it was all I could do to get there. I honored my commitment and hopped on the airplane with the prayer

“Lord, just let this conference minister to my soul. I need it as a mom, as a wife, as a Christian woman.”

Boy did that prayer get answered. In addition to meeting new friends like Sara, and connecting with fellow 5 Minutes for Mom contributor Kelli and Deb and being reunited with my old Compassion buddies Mary, Melanie and Sophie, I sat and soaked it in.

My purpose and resolve as a mother and a wife were strengthened. I laughed some, and I cried some (cried in the way a woman will when she ponders the weight of the responsibility of parenting, with tears springing to my eyes and a lump in my throat, not in a sobbing ugly emotional mess sort of way).

IN 2013 Dotmom will be in the Dallas area in Frisco on February 22 – 23, fearing speakers Priscilla Shirer and Vicki Courtney, with Travis Cottrell leading worship.
