Last week, I was away. Not just away from my house, but away from wifi! (The only connection I had was when I drove into “town” to a cafe.)
Since my father passed away, my husband has maintained my parents’ cabin for my mom. So every chance we get, we pack up and drive for six hours into the interior of British Columbia, a region called “The Cariboo.” (Yes, it is really spelled that way. Very strange.)
But this year, I have been so busy that the last two times my husband went he just took our son Jackson with him and Olivia and I stayed home and I worked.
So, we were all thrilled to head up to the cabin for the last week of summer vacation — together. It was a much needed holiday and family time for all of us.
Here are some of our photos from the trip.
(On Saturday, we visited our friends who have a cabin about an hour away from ours. Visiting them is always a highlight of our cabin vacations. So some of the photos are from their cabin and lake.)

As connected as I am, I LOVE it when there’s no WIFI, or I actually choose not to bring my laptop. I’m sure you enjoyed it immensely!

Those picture remind me of where I grew up in the interior of BC. It’s very wild for sure, but beautiful and great for the kids. Your pictures are wonderful.
