Army Wives $100 Giveaway

For the first five years of my marriage, I was a military wife. I am so thankful that I never had to send my husband off to Afghanistan or Iraq. I can’t imagine how difficult that would be. My husband did however go on an unaccompanied tour to South Korea for one year, leaving when our daughter was just 6 months old, so I do know what it is like to have your husband away.

That experience gave me such a deep admiration for all military wives, especially army wives! You women are incredible, seriously. As are all our men and women in uniform and their families who make such sacrifices for our freedom. Thank you!

In 2007, when Army Wives premiered on Lifetime, I remember how excited I was to watch it. I quickly fell in love with Army Wives, appreciating the glimpses it gives into the lives of military families. It is a powerful show – raw and entertaining.

Army Wives follows the struggles, dreams and friendships of a diverse group of women – and one man – living with their spouses and families on an active army post. The series films in Charleston, South Carolina and stars Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller, Terry Serpico, Katelyn Pippy and Catherine Bell.

OMG…I started watching this show the first day it aired…I haven’t missed an episode thanks to the ability to watch it online. The ironic thing is last September I became an Army Wife. My husband is stationed in Germany and I am stuck here at his parents while we try to get command sponsorship. He is supposed to be deployed at the beginning of next year but that keeps changing.

I’ve never seen the show myself, but with all the positive buzz, I’m going to have to catch up and set my DVR to start recording it! I do have an “army wife” in the family – my aunt, who has had to deal with the incredibly tough situation of seeing her husband stationed in Kuwait for much of the last ten years. Definite shout out to all the military wives – and husbands – out there!

I love “Army Wives”, it is one of my favorite shows! My husband served eight years in the Air Force. During that time he deployed twice and it was hard, thankfully not after we’d had children! My father retired from the Army just before he died in 2006. He had his share of deployments during his thirty years of service.

And I’m not an Army Wife but I’m grateful to every woman out there who is able to live with a husband in the military. I’ve seen every episode of Armywives. I’ve been married 3 years (today!) and my husband is a Marine. He has been to Iraq twice and received a Purple Heart for his injuries. I love this show– I believe that it really does show a side of military life that others rarely know about. My husband isn’t a huge fan– he finds all of the “technical” things wrong with the show, but that’s why he doesn’t watch it. 🙂

I have watched a few episodes and I do think they did a good job capturing some of the real emotion and situations that happen. I really like the lead actress also. God’s blessings to all teh active duty people and their families, it’s not easy to do what any of them do.

I was an air Force wife for 4yrs…Left alone in CA 2mo. after our wedding.
It was wonderful how the other wives banded together for support and welcomed me with open arms. I would not have made it without them. thanks.

I have been watching army wives since i seen the first episode on t.v. I absolutely love it. Its a good show with deep meaning and powerful messages. it leaves me crying with a box of tissues all the time. I am not a army wife but do have family who have served. but i still feel like i have a connection with the show. My husband bought me the box set for valentines day and i was so thrilled. and i even got him hooked on watching it. we would watch two episodes a night after work before we went to bed. I wish i had someone to record the new season showing on t.v. because it airs when im at work since i work 2nd shift and i always miss it and I have to wait for it to come out on video because i can never find a site online to let me watch it. I hope army wives will have many more episodes to come.

I like when i’ve found shows that have been on for a little while though, because then on rainy days or days that im sick i can just curl up on the couch and watch uninterrupted episode after episode. 🙂 Oh, and I am not an army wife.

Yes, I am a fan of “Army Wives”. I relate best to the character “Joan” played by Wendy Davis. I was in the military and my husband wasn’t . Due to a presidential call up (Inactive Ready Reservist), I had to report toCamp McCrady, SC. At the time, our childern were ages 4 and 7. My destination, Iraq. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. I subscribe.

I have not yet seen Army Wives, though I’ve been interested in it. I need to start DVRing it.

My cousin is in the army, therefore his wife is in fact an army wife. It’s not an easy life, that I know.

I have watched every episode of Army Wives and some of them more than twice. While not a military wife we are a military family with every male member of my family having served at one time or another. Thank you to those that are military wives for supporting us as I know you all do not get the recognition you deserve.

I’ve never watched Army Wives, but it looks like a show I’d like. I’m trying not to start watching any new shows, as I’m “hooked” on too many already. I was a Navy wife many years ago, for 4 years, when my husband and I were newlyweds. I can’t say I liked it very much, however I had some of the closest friendships with other navy wives, that I’ve ever had.

I am the proud Army wife of SSG J. Roberson! We have weathered three overseas deployments in less than a decade. Our daughter was born while Daddy was in Iraq the 1st time, and our youngest son was born just before Daddy left for Iraq the 2nd time. I LOVE the show “Army Wives” because I think it is pretty realistic to our life in the military.

My husband serves in the Navy but is mainly with the Marines, he goes out on special ops and is a corpsman. He is part of the Fleet Surgcal Team, so has seen his share of injuries from the war. I am so happy that Army Wives is back and look forward to each and every episode.

I wish I regularly watched this show, when I’ve watched it a couple of times I’ve really enjoyed it. I do know an Army wife, a college friend. Her husband returned last fall from nearly a year in Afghanistan, she bravely managed everything at home – worked full time and solo-parented a 2-year old – through broken cars, broken water pipes in the middle of winter, temper tantrums and countless other challenges. She’s a little bit of a hero in my mind. 🙂

I have seen parts of the show but never actually watched it. I think it would be to hard to watch for me.
I was a military girlfriend/wife for 5 years. In that time my husband was deployed twice. The second time leaving when my DD was 2 weeks old, he missed the whole first year.

Seeing what happened with other wives, and losing 4 close and personal friends in iraq, I just haven’t had the heart to watch it.

My sister is an Army wife. Her husband is deployed to Iraq for his 3rd tour. He left last November, six weeks after their first child was born. He will return home hopefully this November. I have a heart for military wives. I think that our military personnel get so much support which they definitely need. But, the wives are often forgotten and they are true heroes too. They have to take care of house, home and family all alone while their loved ones are away. THey have to be strong and supportive. My sister is that. Strong. Not once have I heard her complain. Not once, has she said how hard it is to take care of business alone and raise a baby alone. I love military wives and I think they are the unsung heroes. She watches the show too. 🙂

I’ve seen a few episodes here and there. As a mom, children’s programming dominates the tube.
We’re also a military family, currently seperated from hubby (daddy) by 1400 miles rich American soil. Brought together by Skype, and torn by the awful data usage rates of my hubby’s internet provider. It’s a difficult life to live, but I wouldn’t choose to have it any other way.

I am an Army Wife. My husband has been to Iraq 3 times (38 months total).
We are currently stationed in Germany. We have three children under 5.

I love watching Army Wives – I can relate on many levels and it is also great entertainment!

I have been asked often if it is REALLY like being an Army wife — And I compare it to the TV show ER. Lots of things are real – and some are not – but it is great entertainment!

I already subscribe and follow you lovely ladies via twitter! 🙂

I started to watch the show when it first came on… but really disliked the infidelity storyline I saw happening. I was an Army wife for 19 years. My husband is now thankfully retired (as of the end of ’09). I did see infidelity happening in some of the families while the soldiers were deployed in real life, and just didn’t need to see it again for entertainment.

I’m sure there are many other good points about the show, and now that we are no longer “in the thick of it” and having to worry about all the real life stuff that military life throws at you… I may give it another shot.

Thanks for the chance at the giveaway. And God Bless all the military families… I surely know how hard it is.
