Tackle It Tuesday – Tackling a Pile of Toys

What to do with all those light sabers?

There is a stash of toys, next to the TV in our family room, that has been driving me crazy! It started off as a few light sabers on top of a box of videos. BUT, of course that pile grew as all the toys that didn’t fit into the toy cupboard got thrown onto the box.

And some days – like in this picture – even a mess of other toys gets strewn around it.

It definitely needed to be tackled!

But what to do with all those light sabers and other toys that don’t fit into the cupboard?

I decided to clear out the box and use it to store all the light sabers, etc. Yes, they still stick out since I didn’t have a tall enough box right now. But at least it is an improvement. Here is the after shot:

Does this even count? I took my daughter to school, I took my toddler to gymnastics and managed to throw in a load of laundry. It really does not seem like much but the day just flew by…..toys, well my older daughter had to help my younger daughter clean up her toys.

Thanks for hosting Tackle it Tuesday. It gives me motivation to get these things done, before they tackle me. My list is up and this evening, hopefully, I’ll post the finished pictures.

I just finished posting about it! This was my first time joining in. Fun! You can’t really tell. But, the mound of toys decreased and got some much needed weeding 😉

What about a tall wastepaper basket? I use a normal wastepaper basket to store my rolls of giftwrap http://organisingtips.blogspot.com/2007/03/tackle-it-tuesday.html and i’m thinking the same kind of thing.

wtg! I hate those light sabers…lol…..they take up a lot of space and are hard to put away and still look organized….not to mention the hitting that happens with them while the kids use them….someone always cries…….awe, the joys of motherhood! 🙂

I had a toy tackle, too. Mine was slightly different than yours – as mine was in the garage.

I wonder if an umbrella stand would hold lightsabers? I’ve got the same problem…but I’ve also got stick horses, too.

    Congrats on getting it tackled.
