This weekend, one of our writers, Adam Freeman, at 5 Minutes for Special Needs, is preparing to say good-bye to his precious daughter Kayleigh.
At Kayleigh’s Story: One Pound Blessing, Adam has shared since June, 2008, about Kayleigh, his tiny baby girl, born three months early.
Now, instead of bringing their baby home with hopes and plans to watch her grow up, the Freemans are just hoping to bring their little girl home to say good bye to her.
As parents, I know all of us are just in shock trying to imagine what agony the Freemans must be enduring right now. Life is truly not fair.
Please stop by Kayleigh’s Story: One Pound Blessing and offer the Freemans your love, support and prayers.
“We know how powerful our Lord is and how He can do anything He wants to do. I feel in my heart that He is deciding to bring you home with Him. Your body will be made new. Your brain, your heart, your lungs, your eyes, and your tummy will be healthier than you ever imagined. You will be so happier in your new home.
As we all prepare for eternity here on Earth, I want you to know that you have touched thousands of lives with your strength and determination. You are the strongest person we have ever known and we are so proud of you for fighting so hard. It is evident that Jesus has laid His hands on you and created a miracle in so many ways. His love is so great! We continue to pray for one more miracle.
We look in to your eyes, Kayleigh, and we cry because if you must go to heaven, we will miss you so much. We just wish you could share your story with millions, personally and help so many others with your own voice. We just wish you could stand with us in front of every single person and pour our hearts out together, holding hands, but we know you will be there looking down on us from heaven. We hope you are proud of us as we did everything we possibly could to save you when no one else believed you could be saved.
We love you so much.”

That photo of Kayleigh’s little hand is so precious…and the story so heartbreaking. I can’t imagine what her parents are going through. My eyes are watering up and my heart is full as I think about and pray for their family.

My heart goes out to Kayleigh and her family. And prayers are continuing from my end. So sad to have to say good by to a child. My heart is breaking.

I’ve read their blog and heard about their story. This is so sad! No one should have to go through the pain of losing a child. I don’t know what I would do if I was in the same situation as them. I will continue to pray for them and their little girl. Kayleigh is also listed on the Healthy Moms Prayer Chain.

As a mom myself, it is difficult for me to read this. I can’t imagine anything tougher than saying goodbye to a child. My prayer is that the parents would have strength and comfort during this time. Wishing the family all the best.
