Army Wives $100 Giveaway

For the first five years of my marriage, I was a military wife. I am so thankful that I never had to send my husband off to Afghanistan or Iraq. I can’t imagine how difficult that would be. My husband did however go on an unaccompanied tour to South Korea for one year, leaving when our daughter was just 6 months old, so I do know what it is like to have your husband away.

That experience gave me such a deep admiration for all military wives, especially army wives! You women are incredible, seriously. As are all our men and women in uniform and their families who make such sacrifices for our freedom. Thank you!

In 2007, when Army Wives premiered on Lifetime, I remember how excited I was to watch it. I quickly fell in love with Army Wives, appreciating the glimpses it gives into the lives of military families. It is a powerful show – raw and entertaining.

Army Wives follows the struggles, dreams and friendships of a diverse group of women – and one man – living with their spouses and families on an active army post. The series films in Charleston, South Carolina and stars Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller, Terry Serpico, Katelyn Pippy and Catherine Bell.

This fabulous show returned on April 11th for its 4th season. If you missed the premiere, don’t worry, you can watch it online right now.

You can catch Army Wives Sunday nights 10PM ET/9PM central on Lifetime.

  1. Holly Cha says

I love Army Wives. My friends and I look forward to it every week. =)

I am a military wife. My husband of 13 yrs is in the Air Force.

  2. says

I hate this war. My grandson went to Iraq in Jan. and I see first hand what this does to a family. His wife is going to school which helps some with her loneliness. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be a newlywed and have him gone.

  3. says

I have loved Army Wives since it’s very first episode. My fiance laughs at me because every episode I cry and say I hate the show yet I keep watching it. My fiance is in the military up here in Canada. We have already gone through a deployment when my son was 6 months old. It was hard, it sucked, but we made it through.

  4. Jeannette says

It’s not realistic at all but I still love the show. I am a heart bursting with pride, army wife! We are currently gearing up for our first deployment. It’s gonna be tough but I wouldn’t have it any other way. This is a great giveaway.

  5. says

I absolutely love this show. I actually have watched it via Netflix and it’s one of my faves!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  6. says

I am a army wife whose husband is deployed (or will be when you read this comment, leaving any moment). I LOVE LOVE that show althought I dislike watching it with DH because he corrects what they do wrong

  7. says

I’ve never seen it. I miss a lot of TV now that I’m busy with the kids. I’m not an army wife either but I do respect the sacrifices that military folk make for us.

  8. says

I have never seen Army Wives, but would love to! My brother-in-law completed his first year in the Marines yesterday and I’m very proud of him! :-)

  9. says

I have watched Army Wives before. It’s a good show. I spent the first 12 years of my life as an Air Force brat! I loved all the traveling we did.

  10. Stefanie Summerer says

I love Army Wives! I was so anxious after last season’s finale and loved the premier this week. My dad was in the Air Force for 24 years and I was an Air Force brat until age 13. So, this brings back memories of living on base.

  11. Barbara M says

I saw the first season of Army Wives and Loved it!
I do not have Lifetime so I’ve been watching it with Netflix.
    I’m not a military wife.
I applaud everyone involved in this matter!

  12. Karen S says

I have never watched the show. It looks interesting, though. I am not a military wife but I was raised in a military family. My father was stationed for one year in Thailand when I was small and I know that was very hard on my mom. My father was in the Air Force. Thanks for the opportunity to win a great prize.

  13. julie reuter says

I am not an military wife, but do like to watch the show. I also work on some military stuff at my place of employment.

  14. Mandala says

I’m not a military wife but my only brother and a couple of first cousins are in the military so I have somehow an idea of what it’s like to have family who are in the military. I also have seen Army Wives for a couple of times :)

  15. Jen VG says

I started to watch the show when it first came on… but really disliked the infidelity storyline I saw happening. I was an Army wife for 19 years. My husband is now thankfully retired (as of the end of ’09). I did see infidelity happening in some of the families while the soldiers were deployed in real life, and just didn’t need to see it again for entertainment.

I’m sure there are many other good points about the show, and now that we are no longer “in the thick of it” and having to worry about all the real life stuff that military life throws at you… I may give it another shot.

Thanks for the chance at the giveaway. And God Bless all the military families… I surely know how hard it is.

    Jen VG

  16. says

I love watching Army Wives. I have watched every single episode. Sadly I missed the season premier but I will be watching it online before Sunday.

  17. says

I don’t have cable so I have not seen Army Wives, but when I went on vacation with my Mom we watched cable and I saw a preview for it and now, I REALLY want to watch it!

  18. Tina says

I love Army Wives. I grew up in an army family. My dad served for 25 years. Both of my grandfathers were career army and my brother proudly serves with the 82nd Airborne and is currently serving his first tour in Iraq. I am proud to be part of an Army family. We bleed green!

  19. says

I am an Army Wife. My husband has been to Iraq 3 times (38 months total).
We are currently stationed in Germany. We have three children under 5.

I love watching Army Wives – I can relate on many levels and it is also great entertainment!

I have been asked often if it is REALLY like being an Army wife — And I compare it to the TV show ER. Lots of things are real – and some are not – but it is great entertainment!

I already subscribe and follow you lovely ladies via twitter! :)

  20. Kelly Ann T. says

I’m not a military wife. I have not watched Army wives since I’m not home when it is on. I should start recording it.

  21. says

I’ve seen a few episodes here and there. As a mom, children’s programming dominates the tube.
We’re also a military family, currently seperated from hubby (daddy) by 1400 miles rich American soil. Brought together by Skype, and torn by the awful data usage rates of my hubby’s internet provider. It’s a difficult life to live, but I wouldn’t choose to have it any other way.

  22. says

My daughter and I have watched Army Wives since it began. We love it. Although I am not an Army wife, I am intrigued by the lives of these women. They have such an intense bond of faithfulness and friendship and really walk the extra mile for one another.

  23. says

i adore the show, subscribe by feed and no i am not a military wife, but i have a greater appreciation for the keeping the lives of our soldiers stable.

  24. tiffany says

I am the proud wife of Retired Sargeant First Class R. Christian (US Army)!!! I have never watched the show but have heard good things about it.

  25. says

I’m a Canadian army wife, and fell in love wit the show when my husband was on a month-long training exercise in Germany in ’08. Then again when he spent 6 weeks in BC [we’re in NB].

  26. Jennifer H says

I haven’t watched the show, but am willing to set the dvr and give it a shot! It’s sounds interesting. :)

  27. says

I am a huge fan of the show! I am the wife of a medically retired Soldier. We even had a premiere party for the show that made news! You can see the articles on my blog

  28. says

I am one that goes to bed REALLY early, so I have not watched many episodes but I have caught a couple of re-runs. My mother in law is addicted to this show though.
My dad was in the Army and I have a few friends that are in the military now.

  29. says

I love army wives and so excited about this season, its going to be a good one I can tell already, my brother is in Iraq and finally coming home the 20th of this month its been a long streesful year I don’t know how you wives do it just having my brother over there has been so tough..Thank God for Facebook when he has the time we chat at least once a week…please pray for his safe return

  30. says

My sister is an Army wife. Her husband is deployed to Iraq for his 3rd tour. He left last November, six weeks after their first child was born. He will return home hopefully this November. I have a heart for military wives. I think that our military personnel get so much support which they definitely need. But, the wives are often forgotten and they are true heroes too. They have to take care of house, home and family all alone while their loved ones are away. THey have to be strong and supportive. My sister is that. Strong. Not once have I heard her complain. Not once, has she said how hard it is to take care of business alone and raise a baby alone. I love military wives and I think they are the unsung heroes. She watches the show too. :)

  31. Marlena U. says

I have never seen this show…but I would love to win so I could get caught up on the latest season!

  32. Deb Anderson says

I have watched a couple of episodes and loved it!! But I missed the first season completely and I’m one of those that just doesn’t like watching (or reading) things out of order, so I haven’t watched any more. But I might have to look at getting the shows on DVD so I can catch up on everything.

  33. Maureen says

Hi – Yes – I LOVE Army Wives and am so excited it is back on now (I think earlier than normal too). I’ve watched since season 2, I believe. Thanks, Maureen (jnomaxx at hotmail dot com).

  34. says

I have seen parts of the show but never actually watched it. I think it would be to hard to watch for me.
I was a military girlfriend/wife for 5 years. In that time my husband was deployed twice. The second time leaving when my DD was 2 weeks old, he missed the whole first year.

Seeing what happened with other wives, and losing 4 close and personal friends in iraq, I just haven’t had the heart to watch it.

  35. Rebecca says

I wish I regularly watched this show, when I’ve watched it a couple of times I’ve really enjoyed it. I do know an Army wife, a college friend. Her husband returned last fall from nearly a year in Afghanistan, she bravely managed everything at home – worked full time and solo-parented a 2-year old – through broken cars, broken water pipes in the middle of winter, temper tantrums and countless other challenges. She’s a little bit of a hero in my mind. :)

  36. Tamara B. says

I have never missed an episode! I love that show and I can really relate. Been married to the military for 16 years now. My husband serves in the Navy but is mainly with the Marines, he goes out on special ops and is a corpsman. He is part of the Fleet Surgcal Team, so has seen his share of injuries from the war. I am so happy that Army Wives is back and look forward to each and every episode.

  37. says

I am the proud Army wife of SSG J. Roberson! We have weathered three overseas deployments in less than a decade. Our daughter was born while Daddy was in Iraq the 1st time, and our youngest son was born just before Daddy left for Iraq the 2nd time. I LOVE the show “Army Wives” because I think it is pretty realistic to our life in the military.

  38. says

I don’t watch much television, but this one sounds like it’s worth tuning in! I am not an Army wife, but hubby is a veteran. I feel so grateful every day to all of our military members and their families. They make so many sacrifices for us. We need to honor them every day and let them know that we pray for tham often.

  39. says

I have never watched the show. I was a Navy wife for one year. While engaged my husband had to leave for a deployment for six months. That was not fun. I can’t imagine having children and having that happen. My heart goes out to all military wives.

  40. Linda M. says

I was late to start watching Army Wives. It was highly recommended by quite a few of my friends. I enjoyed it & saw that it was great acting & done very real. But I watch too many other shows & had to give it up,just for time for the others. I can’t watch TV all day you know…….LOL…….well I guess I could…………

  41. Linda Kish says

I don’t believe I have missed an episode yet. I love watching Army Wives.

    lkish77123 at gmail dot com

  42. says

YES! I love Army Wives – however, I hate missing shows in between during the season, I always feel left out or behind. MUST get the first 3 season on DVD!!

Was once a Military Wife – ex-husband was/is a Marine. 18 year old son is enlisting into the Marines… so here is my shout out:

  43. Amy L says

I’ve never watched Army Wives, but it looks like a show I’d like. I’m trying not to start watching any new shows, as I’m “hooked” on too many already. I was a Navy wife many years ago, for 4 years, when my husband and I were newlyweds. I can’t say I liked it very much, however I had some of the closest friendships with other navy wives, that I’ve ever had.

  44. Jen L. says

I’m not a military wife and have never watched the show. But it sounds like a great show and now that I know about it, I want to watch it. Thanks for the contest.

  45. Laura says

I have never watched it but after this review of it it has peaked my interest! I am not an army wife but come from an army family.

  46. Kirsten T. says

Amazingly, I have not seen the show…yet! Time to Netflix starting with Season 1. As a military member myself (USCG), I have the utmost respect for the spouses that need to maintain the homefront. I am so glad my hubby is strong when I am on my deployments! I couldn’t do it without him.

  47. Melissa N. says

I’ve watched Army Wives since it came out – great show :)

My husband got out of the Army in oct’ 08, he’s EOD, and I cna’t be more proud.

  48. Kowanda says

I’ve never watched the show. I am an Army wife. I grew up in the Army. All three of my brothers served (one still does) in the Army. My sister served in the Army. My cousin is in the Navy. My husband Uncle and four of his cousins are all in the Army. I love the Army life and I love my Army sisters. I can’t imagin my life any other way.

I absolutely LOVE Army Wives. I am not an Arby Wife, but I still relate to many topics of the show and it’s one of my favorites. I just saw this season’s new premiere last night (thank god for DVR) and it was soooo good! I hope Joan will be OK, lol.

Thanks for the chance in your contest! :)

  53. says

We don’t have cable so I haven’t ever watched Army Wives. But I do have a lot of respect for those who volunteer to serve to defend freedom — and their loved ones.

  54. susitravl says

Not a fan because I don’t watch TV, but my niece is such a huge fan – she tells friends and family via Twitter and Facebook that they are NOT to call or text her during the show. Her husband is in the Air Force and her 2 brothers (my nephews) are in the Army.

  55. says

I have watched every episode of Army Wives and some of them more than twice. While not a military wife we are a military family with every male member of my family having served at one time or another. Thank you to those that are military wives for supporting us as I know you all do not get the recognition you deserve.

  56. says

I have not yet seen Army Wives, though I’ve been interested in it. I need to start DVRing it.

My cousin is in the army, therefore his wife is in fact an army wife. It’s not an easy life, that I know.

Yes, I am a fan of “Army Wives”. I relate best to the character “Joan” played by Wendy Davis. I was in the military and my husband wasn’t . Due to a presidential call up (Inactive Ready Reservist), I had to report toCamp McCrady, SC. At the time, our childern were ages 4 and 7. My destination, Iraq. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. I subscribe.

  62. Amber Young says

I have never watched arm wives, but I have been seeing it advertised a lot lately. I’m surprised it’s in it’s fourth season, since I’ve just recently started hearing about it. I like when i’ve found shows that have been on for a little while though, because then on rainy days or days that im sick i can just curl up on the couch and watch uninterrupted episode after episode. :) Oh, and I am not an army wife.

  81. Katrina says

I have been watching army wives since i seen the first episode on t.v. I absolutely love it. Its a good show with deep meaning and powerful messages. it leaves me crying with a box of tissues all the time. I am not a army wife but do have family who have served. but i still feel like i have a connection with the show. My husband bought me the box set for valentines day and i was so thrilled. and i even got him hooked on watching it. we would watch two episodes a night after work before we went to bed. I wish i had someone to record the new season showing on t.v. because it airs when im at work since i work 2nd shift and i always miss it and I have to wait for it to come out on video because i can never find a site online to let me watch it. I hope army wives will have many more episodes to come.

  82. katklaw777 says

I have never seen the show cause we don’t have cable, but I have heard good reviews.
I was an air Force wife for 4yrs…Left alone in CA 2mo. after our wedding.
It was wonderful how the other wives banded together for support and welcomed me with open arms. I would not have made it without them. thanks.

  83. says

I’ve never seen the show, but I have quite a few family members who are currently serving in the armed forces – my brother-in-law, my cousin(s), several good friends, etc. I am so very grateful for their service.

  84. says

I am a daughter of a Navy fella. He was gone alot, thankfully not to war, at least not that I heard of; there are things going on in our defense that I am sure we are unaware of though.
I have watched a few episodes and I do think they did a good job capturing some of the real emotion and situations that happen. I really like the lead actress also. God’s blessings to all teh active duty people and their families, it’s not easy to do what any of them do.

  85. Eileen says

I have not been able to watch Army wives…my hubby controls most of the Remote, and most of the time it is during nightime bed, homework, or clean up time for the 3 kids. It IS a show I always used to see previews on and wanted to “get into”. Maybe now that we have a newer TV upstairs that is not a Microscopic 20 year old one, I can watch from the kitchen?
    thanks much!

  86. Jennifer Miller says

I watched the first season and loved it; very moving and emotional. I’m not a Military Wife, but I am a Military sister. That alone is hard enough to handle!

  87. Kayla says

I have yet to catch an episode of Army Wives, but with your review of it, I may have to see if I like it! My husband and I keep saying that we don’t need another TV show to watch! :)

I’m an Army wife; my husband is a Medic in an Infantry unit. We’re looking at enduring our first deployment (to Afghanistan) at the end of this year/beginning of next year. Thanks to all who serve(d)!

  88. Jessica H says

I’ve seen every episode of Armywives. I’ve been married 3 years (today!) and my husband is a Marine. He has been to Iraq twice and received a Purple Heart for his injuries. I love this show– I believe that it really does show a side of military life that others rarely know about. My husband isn’t a huge fan– he finds all of the “technical” things wrong with the show, but that’s why he doesn’t watch it. :)

  89. Suzanne K says

I haven’t seen this show, but will try to start watching (I’ve heard such good things). I’m not a military wife, but my step dad is retired Air Force and I’ve always heard all the stories about everywhere he was based (before he and Mom got married)

  90. Christine Sarkauskas says

I have not watched it, but am willing to give it a try. I have heard many good things about it.

  91. Charity S. says

No, but I really need to check it out. I’m an Army Vet…and I know about being on the other side.

  92. Janet Carpenter says

I love Army Wives and watch every episode! My only complaint about the show is that there aren’t enough episodes, it seems like the breaks are sooooo long. The characters are very interesting and the suspense is awesome – I usually can’t wait to see what happens.

  93. says

I’ve only seen a couple episodes of this show and have liked what I’ve watched. I’ll probably rent it sometime so I can see whole seasons at once. Thanks.

  94. Barbara says

I have not watched Army Wives and have never been a military wife. My father, however, served as a Marine in the Pacific theater in WWII.

  98. Paul says

I enjoyed the episode that flashed back to the 1940’s, telling of another set of military women sharing struggles, dreams, and friendship.

  99. Kerry says

I’ve never watched the show – we don’t get the channel that it airs on….otherwise I would probably tune in!

  100. Aisling says

I’ve never watched Army Wives, but my DH was in the Reserves when we were first married and went off on a couple of deployments. It can be really rough.

  101. says

I have never seen Army Wives but I’ve heard so many great things about it I’ll have to get it on Netflix, if possible! And I’m not an Army Wife but I’m grateful to every woman out there who is able to live with a husband in the military. It’s not an easy life to give up your husband or wife for your country and I can’t thank those military families enough!

I love “Army Wives”, it is one of my favorite shows! My husband served eight years in the Air Force. During that time he deployed twice and it was hard, thankfully not after we’d had children! My father retired from the Army just before he died in 2006. He had his share of deployments during his thirty years of service.

I’m not an army wife, nor have I seen the show, but I’ve heard such good things that I think I’m going to check it out.

I watched the first episode, but haven’t since then. Nothing against the series, I just don’t watch much series TV.

  109. Jennifer B says

I find a lot of comfort in Army Wives. It feels good to know I’m not the only one going through this.

I have watched Army Wives, just recently and enjoyed it. I will be looking for a way to view it from the first season.

I have never seen Army Wives as I don’t really watch TV. Not a military wife, either. However, my baby brother is in Iraq right now with the Navy. Thanks for the contest! codisweepstakes2 (@) gmail(dot)com

I never watched this program but I was an Army brat and an Army wife. My husband served in Iraq. Very used to the Army life and love moving around.

  114. Heather Curtis says

I’ve yet to watch Army Wives (we just happened to get cable yesterday, so hopefully I can start watching episodes of it soon!). I am not a military wife, but I grew up as a military brat. My dad was enlisted in the Air Force for 25 years and retired in ’92. My utmost respect and gratitude goes out to the men and women protecting and fighting for our country!

  115. Amy G. says

I’ve never seen the show myself, but with all the positive buzz, I’m going to have to catch up and set my DVR to start recording it! I do have an “army wife” in the family – my aunt, who has had to deal with the incredibly tough situation of seeing her husband stationed in Kuwait for much of the last ten years. Definite shout out to all the military wives – and husbands – out there!

  118. Kristin says

I have never watched Army Wives. However…my grandfather was a WWII Army vet…my uncle was in the army, and another uncle was Air Force.

I have never watched the show and honestly wasn’t really even aware of the show until I saw it as a sponcer on a NASCAR car. I really don’t get to watch Lifetime as much as I used too. Thanks for the opportunity

  123. Ashley says

OMG…I started watching this show the first day it aired…I haven’t missed an episode thanks to the ability to watch it online. The ironic thing is last September I became an Army Wife. My husband is stationed in Germany and I am stuck here at his parents while we try to get command sponsorship. He is supposed to be deployed at the beginning of next year but that keeps changing.
