Jessica, 5m4m contributor, shares her thoughts on Joya – the iphone app that will help all of us moms take more videos and share them with family members. We were compensated to write this post, however all opinions remain those of the writer.
Have you ever taken a video of your adorable child doing something completely hilarious and you wanted to share it with a few of your family members?
Maybe you took one of your two year old running around without clothing while singing all the lyrics to “Who Let the Dogs Out?” that you want your friends to see but don’t want it up on the internet.
A new iPhone app called Joya can help you get these great videos into the devices of all your friends and family members with just a few clicks. There’s no need to upload to the internet or create accounts at multiple sites to share your video. It’s easy to use for both you and those receiving your videos.
Joya was created by Vlada and Michal Bortnik so they could develop strong relationships between their daughters and family members from around the world.
“We wanted our loved ones to share in our kids’ everyday lives but Skype was too difficult. By the time we got it set up, the kids were too wiggly, antsy and upset to be on camera,” said Vlada. “We needed an easy way to remain connected to our favorite people on our own time and in a much more private way than blasting videos out on Facebook or Youtube.”
It was simple to go from recording a video to sharing it. In a matter of minutes, my mom had a link to watch an adorable self made video from my 7 year old who now plans to send her daily video diaries to keep her in touch with his life. Here’s how it works:
- Download the Joya app on your iPhone (it’s free by the way)
- Add the contact information either with their mobile number or email address to your “Favorites”
- Connect your iPhone video library to the app.
- Send the videos to your list of favorites.
- The recipient will be notified via a text link or an email. They click on it to watch.
Your family and friends do not need to have an iPhone, sign up for anything or download any software. They just need to be able to watch the video.
Everyone wants to feel close to their family and friends. Keeping in touch is easier now than it has ever been. Joya can keep you, your family and your friends as close as possible. Sharing life’s memorable moments and hilarious adventures is easy with your iPhone and Joya.
Today, my mom sent me an excited email stating how happy she was to see my little one with his missing front teeth talking about soccer. She doesn’t get to see his games due to the distance and I don’t take pictures very often.
Her instructions for me were to give my son the phone every day to send her as many videos as possible. “Even the silly ones he makes that have absolutely no purpose,” she said. The app is so simple to use, my son can do it on his own. Our family just got a whole lot closer thanks to Joya!
You can get more information about Joya by visiting the iTunes store or the Joya website. You can also follow Joya on Twitter or “Like” them on Facebook.
