I love to be organized, I strive to be organized…but alas, I am never truly organized. I crave the life of an organized person. The one who knows what she’s having for dinner on Friday, when it is only Monday. The one that keeps a list, and checks it twice to ensure that everything is neat, tidy, complete, and taken care of… AKA – Super Woman.
Well, shoot.
Super woman is fictional, and as much as I try I know that I will NEVER be that person. But I can keep trying right…the more I try, the closer to perfection I will become (HA!) But what I truly would love is an organized Holiday season. Where surprises are more than welcome, as long as the everyday stuff has a plan in place.
I cannot tell you how many hours I have spent on Pinterest, looking for ideas for crafts and home made gifts (we’re on a tight budget this year folks…hope you like cookies ’cause that’s likely what you’re getting from me!) I’ve got all my pins ready, and am continuously adding more. But, as much as I am a digital gal, I am very much still a paper and pen kinda person.
I like to have a place to write things down, ideas, lists…people to add to the Christmas Card List. And not rely on my iphone to get me through…I mean…if something happened to my phone (god forbid) all would be lost.
So I’m going the old fashioned route. With a Christmas Binder.
She’s a Martha Stewart binder from Staples, though I’m sure by the end of the season she wont be quite so pristine. But for now, I’m trying to keep her unlabeled, unmarked… I don’t want the kids to know that’s where Santa keeps his list.
Inside, pocketed dividers, with labels like Master Gift List, and Holiday Card list. Along with all the names and addresses of the people who will be receiving said cards/gifts. That in itself took a good 2 hours… all hand written.
As we get deeper and deeper into the Holiday season, this book will fill up quickly. But I will say it will be nice to have everything in one place for a change.
