Blissdom 2011 ROCKED…
Yes, this Mom Blogging Conference literally ROCKED!
I love Blissdom. (In fact, I love Blissdom so much, Susan and I were on the board this past fall for Blissdom Canada! Which was also, by the way, awesome!)
The Blissdom team always delivers an incredible conference, complete with informative sessions, inspiring key notes, and most of all, incredible nightlife! (At Blissdom 2010, one of the guests was Harry Connick Jr.!)
Barbara Jones, co-owner of Blissdom, has her roots in the music industry and uses her experience and contacts to bring talented artists to entertain us mom bloggers at the fabulous evening parties.
And oh we appreciate it. We really do.
Mom bloggers, let loose from our laptops and mom duties, can party with the best of the them.
And thanks to Barbara and the Blissdom crew, every year at Blissdom we get the chance to put on our party shoes, (which we ultimately slip off at some point during the night,) and hit the dance floor with our flip cameras and smart phones.
On Thursday night, Michelle Branch (a mom blogger/twitter addict too!) and Mat Kearney made sure the momosphere was a twitter with their talent! (Thanks to party sponsor Jockey.)
On Friday night, we had “hometown boy,” (Blissdom regular,) Chris Mann to get the crowd dancing. From the stage, Chris told his “mom” fans that Blissdom was his favorite gig. And how could it not be? Seriously — the ladies at Blissdom love Chris Mann like no other! We are very loyal to Chris.
Finally, we had Crystal Bowersox, American Idol runner up and another young mom!, wrap up the entertainment with her powerful, beautiful voice. (Thanks to party sponsor Freschetta, California Raisins, and Blue Bunny.)
But, sandwiched between the two evenings, was perhaps the most fabulous part of the conference — a Flash Mob, put together by Jana Warnke, about which the Blissdom organizers knew nothing!
Just as Scott Stratten closed the conference sessions with his hysterical and insightful keynote, and Barbara Jones began to address the audience, Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA blasted through the ballroom.
Confused, Barbara looked around trying to find the source of the disruption and Alli Worthington jumped up to help. But within seconds we all knew exactly what was happening — a Blissdom FLASH MOB!!!
As the first wave weaved through the tables, I turned to my dance-loving bff Jenny on the Spot and said, “You are in this right?” She grinned with her eyes already dancing and I said, “Give me your video camera!”
I turned it on and did my (totally unprepared!) best in the madness to capture all the awesome!
When I spotted Chris Mann joining in at the front, I climbed on stage to shoot. (Hence the part in the clip where it goes black as I climb up.)
The Blissdom Flash Mob summed up Blissdom and the Mom Blogging community beautifully — we can do anything, if we do it together!
Here is the unedited full version of the Blissdom Flash Mob of 2011! Enjoy — and make sure you don’t miss the Bliss next year…

I miss my loud somewhat bossy friend, Janice immensely. I actually talked about you at work today. I said, “My friend Janice says that us rich Orange County peep need to go on a Disney Cruise, if we do one thing in life.”

I wish I could have been there!! I was able to meet Chris Mann up close and personal a few months ago in maryland. He came out to do a living room concert for some local bloggers, and, well….he ROCKED! He had the whole room of us swooning!

It looks like you all had so much fun!

Ok, now I’ve watched the whole video and have ONE question. How do they all know the dance moves? Have I missed something in the bloggy world that says all bloggers must know how to dance to Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA?

Oh How Fabulous! I was at Blisdom Canada, my very first conference, and it was so energetic and powerful! I can see this is true for all the Blissdom conferences! Thanks for sharing:)

Oh, Blissdom was SO MUCH FUN!

I like blog conferences, but I’m not a big fan of the “night life” scene. I much prefer to lounge in my hotel room with a few friends or go to a quiet dinner with a small party. 🙂

That was totally awesome!
Earlier on, someone came to the Bliss at Home screen, I’m pretty sure it was @mooshinindy, to tell us to sit tight after the keynote, the fairy godmother Scott Stratten, was on and boy was it worth it!. @RiaSharon brought us right up front to be able to watch from the comfort of our own couches!
Now… can we pull something like this, but different of course, off at Blissdom Canada this year….. hmmmmmm
Join our little “at home” movement

That looks like so much fun! Um, who’s Chris Mann? There I said it. I hope to make it to Blissdom next year…or any conference this year! LOL
