5 Minutes for Books–Personalized Miffy Book

Every preschooler loves a birthday party and your preschooler can now be the star of the party in this Miffy book from Personal Gifts. I have always been somewhat skeptical of personalized books, because I remember the ones of my childhood where Jennifer! would be inserted way too often and in a completely different typeface than the rest of the story. This softcover book is brightly colored and professional. A Party for Kyle was a big hit in my house, both with my three-year-old and his nine-year-old sister. If you click the link, you can see a page by page sample of this cute story.

As an American, the non-American spelling of “coloured,” ancoverschuin2.jpgd “personalised,” and the eating of ice lollies did stand out a bit, but it in no way detracts from this original idea. In addition to the child being the center of the story, with a party in his honor, you can include a dedication to them at the beginning of the book. Mine reads:

To Kyle: I hope I’ll always have at least 5 Minutes for Books for us to share together. Love, Mommy.

The last page of the book signs off, “Bye Bye, Kyle. See you next time!” which will make any child excited to read more.

Currently, I these books can only be ordered from a U.S. or U.K. address, but five of you can win a personalized copy. Since the order won’t go through the website, it can ship anywhere in Europe or North America! It also looks like other languages are available (but since I can’t read the site in other languages, I’m not exactly sure).

One of my favorite books growing up was a personalized one with my name in it. This looks great and I’m sure my son would love one.

I had a personalized book (The Jungle Book) that had me AND my brother in it. I loved that book and wore it out. The Jungle Book is still one of my favorite stories. = )

I remember having my own personlized book when I was little and I love it! They even put a little girl in it with curly blonde hair so I truly thought it was just for me! I would love to do that for my son (he’s almost 2), especially since he’s actually sitting down for more than 4 seconds theses days!

What a cute book! I too had a book with my name in it when I was a kid, but I don’t remember it being that bad. It was about going to the circus. Actually I be it’s still at my mom’s house somewhere…
I would love to get one of these for my son!
