I’d like to introduce you to Piper, isn’t she adorable?
Piper stars in the new short from Pixar Animation Studios titled “Piper”. She is a hungry sandpiper hatchling and in her story we see her leave her nest for the first time to dig for food by the shoreline.
The problem she encounters is the food is buried beneath the sand where scary waves roll up onto the shore.

“Piper” is directed by Alan Barillaro who has been at Pixar Studios since 1997. He has worked on movies such as “A Bugs Life,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “Finding Nemo,” and “Brave.” Soon after he finished his work on “Brave” he took on a new project with Pixar’s software development team to create a new animation tool. In order to prove how amazing this new tool was he created a short animation test about a sandpiper bird on the beach. This test grew into the short “Piper”
“Piper” will debut in theaters worldwide with “Finding Dory” on June 17, 2016.
