Hello 5 Minutes to Mom readers, this is Patti from Sincerelyjean.com. As things are heating up for the summer we have the perfect sweet treat that will help cool you down.
Today, we are bringing you our lemon sorbet recipe that we make with out an ice-cream maker. It is super easy and fun to make and it doesn’t heat up your kitchen. If you have a sweet tooth, this is definitely for you. It is perfect for those hot summer nights.
Ingredients
- 1 C Water
- 1 1/2 C Sugar
- 1 1/2 C Lemon juice
- 1 Tbls Lemon zest
Instructions
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sugar, and lemon zest. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to cool.
- Stir in 2 cups of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Transfer to a 9 x 13 metal baking plan. Place in freezer for about 3 hours. Stir with fork every half hour for the first hour.
How easy is that? This lemon sorbet is pretty tart so be ready to pucker up when you eat it. It is very refreshing and my family loved it. You just need a couple ingredients for the perfect summer night treat. I love that I can make this without an ice-cream maker as well. It is fun for the kiddos to help out and they love to eat it!
We hope you enjoy your sorbet and have a great summer! If you like this recipe you might also like our Strawberry Butter Cake and our Peanut Butter Brownie Truffles.
