This is Janice, co-founder of 5 Minutes for Mom, writing to tell you about my favourite exercise tool. I bought my Travel Roller a year ago, and I am obsessed with it. This post contains affiliate links but my enthusiasm and sincerest of recommendations are all mine. Also, please note that I am not a doctor or fitness expert. This post is my personal opinion and experience and I am not making any medical or therapeutic claims. Please consult your doctor before any changes to your exercise routine.
What if exercising felt like getting a massage???
You would be first in line, I bet. (As you munched on a chocolate bar that made you lose weight — cause this is a dream world, right?)
But this is no dream. This is life ROLLING.
Since my first pregnancy 13 years ago, I have struggled with lower back pain. Every day, I am in pain. But perhaps the worst part is that exercising – even walking – seems to make it worse.
Discouraged about my lack of exercise options and worsening back issues, a year ago I began looking for a personal trainer. A friend recommended Arysta Bogner and within a few minutes of chatting with her and learning about her rolling technique, I knew I had found someone who could finally help me.
An accomplished athlete with years of diverse fitness experience, Arysta Bogner, B. Kin, CPT, Fitness Expert and CEO of Time2Roll Inc., developed the first portable solid core performance foam roller in 2007 to help athletes – including herself – heal from chronic pain and injury.
Working with fellow Canadian, Adam Wood B. Kin, CSCS, the two entrepreneurs combined their years of research into myo-fascial release in the world of high performance sport and injury rehabilitation to develop the Original Travel Roller®, creating a self-therapy tool that has helped over a hundred thousand people reduce body pain and improve their health.
Rolling is Really for Everyone
I am not an athlete – unless you consider marathons working at my computer – but mercifully, I don’t need to be an athlete to use and benefit from the Travel Roller.
After I met Arysta and had my first rolling session, I got my whole family rolling — from my 74 year old mom, to Susan, to my kids. We bought kit after kit from Arysta and all became rolling fans.
Using the Travel Roller and acupressure balls have not only helped relieve my back pain and muscle tension, but they have allowed me to work my core muscles without straining my back — which is so darn exciting, I can’t even tell you!
But the Best part is…
I get so excited telling my friends about rolling and acupressure balls because not only does it help relieve pain, help tone and strengthen muscles, improve flexibility – all while it feels like you are getting a deep tissue massage – but it is fabulously affordable.
The Travel Roller® 4.3 Deluxe Kit costs less than one massage but will last you for years. My kit is some of the best money I have ever spent.
Exercise You Can Fit into Your Life
None of us has extra time on our hands. Since I became a mom, try as I might, I have never been able to fit regular trips to the gym or exercise classes into my schedule.
But with my roller and acupressure balls, I lay out my exercise mat, turn on Netflix, and enjoy my work out, my massage, and my TV time. Now, that is the kind of multi-tasking that works in my life.
