Contributing writer, Dwan Perrin, talks about her newest dress from Shabby Apple…
I was recently given the chance to review a dress from Shabby Apple. I absolutely love all their styles and was excited to browse their site. I decided on the Grey Cotton T-Shirt Tiered Dress – Atlantic Fog. I selected the Atlantic Fog for the simplicity of the dress with the ability to dress it up. I thought the grey color would be perfect for the winter months and go great with my new grey boots. Plus not only did it look cute it also looked extremely comfortable. Perfect for my days of volunteering at church on Sunday.
I was exactly right with my assumptions and more than pleased. The material the dress is made out of is very soft. I have already worn the dress twice and experienced no issues during the washing/drying. The dress did not shrink and the fabric looks just as good after the first wash as it did brand new.
When the dress first arrived I realized it did not come with the belt as shown in the photo. The dress is slightly loose fitting without the belt. In their photo they have it partnered with a brown belt and boots, however I went with black.
I think it looks great either way. I happened to have a black belt on hand. I suggest using the stretchy fitted belts around the dress and arranging where it gathers after you have the belt in place. The material is soft enough to position the dress under the belt for what’s most comfortable for you. It’s made to look bunched and honestly to me I believe it looks much better that way.
Slap on a necklace and boots for the complete outfit. The second time I wore the dress it was colder out so I added tights to give it a nicer look.
