I just HAD to turn on the TV right at that exact moment!
I never watch TV during the day. But Olivia was getting distracted by Jackson and Phil playing, so I took her into our bedroom to nurse and I turned on the TV. “Fabulous,” I thought, “I can watch a few moments of Ellen. I never get to watch Ellen!”
And then I saw it. Something every Canadian fan of Project Runway wants to know, but doesn’t want to know YET – the winner of this season! Yes – the winner was on Ellen. Oh, the agony!!!
Why on earth the executives made the cruel decision of airing Project Runway a few weeks behind in Canada is beyond me. It is hard enough that I have to avoid all the Project Runway sites so that I don’t find out what happens before the episodes air here – but finding out the winner three weeks too soon?!? It is just painful!
Why??? Why would they do this to us Canadians!?! Why not just air the episodes on the same schedule?!?
So, now I must watch with no suspense. I won’t hold my breath and count down the days to the finale. I won’t gasp in shock as the designers are eliminated. And when the winner is announced, I won’t tingle with the news I waited so long to discover. Yes, I will still watch. How could I not? But oh those thrilling moments of suspense and excitement – those moments are all gone.
PS – For my fellow Canadian Project Runway fans who may have not yet found out the results, please be careful. The winner is out there. Close your eyes. Don’t watch Ellen. Tread carefully.

You’re from Canada? Where? I was born and raised in Vancouver but I live in California now. I loved your website before, but now I think I love it even more now! I enjoy Project Runway too, although we don’t get it on our TV so I always just wait for the dvds. I’m sorry it got ruined for you!

I only watch Ellen for the dance segment then I turn.
I’m so sorry the winner was spoiled for you 🙁

But really, weren’t they all winners? Their collections were all pretty amazing.

Oh, Janice! I’m soooo very sorry! I really wish they wouldn’t do that to you, it seriously doesn’t make sense 🙁

I think the reason why you see it behind the USA audience is because of the way it gets syndicated and the price they pay for airing (first run, second run, etc). If they aired it the same time, then it would cost more money but if they air it once in the USA they make their top dollar, then sell it to others and make something (additional money) from the ads. PBS stations in the USA do the same thing for their programing. Some stations cannot buy first runs, they wait a season or two to air a program that ran a few years ago on a station that had money to spare for a first run.

I was tivo’ing Dancing w/the Stars this year because it was past DD10’s bedtime & she was watching it w/me. I had to remember to avoid Regis & Kelly’s beginning of the show chit-chat because Kelly would talk about it.

I too am a huge Project Runway fan. And I won’t tell who won . . .
As a mom and green blogger, I just wish green things got as much attention as Project Runway. Not as exciting, but so critical for the future or our children. Not a day goes by without more news about the urgency of taking action. The health and future of our children is at risk. As moms, there is so much we can do to. First, by setting the example and greening our lives as much as possible. Walking, biking, using public transportation instead of driving. Just as an example.

Don’t feel badly. Going from time zone to time zone wreaks all sorts of TV havoc. Going outside of the US into neighboring Canada is just too much for the TV schedulers to manage.
You’ll learn to watch TV with one eye closed.
Cheers!

Oh no!! I hate when that happens! The feeling of suspense at each week’s show is what to look forward to! Enjoy the rest of the season though. It really was the best season so far.

Sounds like you have a football problem. My husband will avoid the internet and sports programs for days if a game is on delay on US (Bahamas) TV. Unlike you though he won’t watch the game if he finds out the score. He’s too mad!

Oh, I really am sorry-and I kind of thought the film led it to look like someone else would be the winner. The same thing happened to me several years ago when accidentally on a lunch break I discovered Michelle Kwan hadn’t won the Olympics. That’s so upsetting. Feel your pain!
