What an amazing basket – and what awesome Mother’s Day Gifts they would make.
Hello I am writing to nominate my mother Corinthia Sampson for this great mother’s day package. My mother went through a lot of pain throughout her life and despite it all she managed to raise me and my younger brother alone successfully as well as help others raise their children. I look at my mother as a “superwoman” because many people call her “mother” she has been a counselor, mother, confidont, sister and friend for many that had nobody at some point and time. She is overall a giving person and never looks for anything in return. I just want my mom to take a break at some point and time but she always is somewhere aiding to need of others and sometimes never to herself. I love my moms spirit and I cherish her God given abilities. I thank God daily for such a peaceful and loving mother. I wouldn’t change anything about her.

What a wonderful prize! I’d love to feel like a mama’lebrity!
I want to tell the world how wonderful my mother-in-law is, after her courageous battle with tonsil cancer she went over and beyond the call of mother in law duty to help take care of me while I battle breast cancer. She had us stay with her for 3 months after my bilateral mastectomy and for my first few treatments of my 6 month chemo. She bathed me, did my laundry, made me food, emptied my drains, and helped me to pay my bills, and took me to all my doctor appointments. She is there by my side through all my surgeries holding my hand telling me everything is going to be alright. I could NOT have asked for a better mother in law, cancer has brought us so close. And to top it off we share the same birthday, I really hope you pick me, she deserves the best recognition in the world

The days for my best Mother’s Day gifts such as little hands pressed into clay or exquisitely executed paintings or crayola drawings or hand sewn potholders. T he makers of those priceless gifts are grown now with children of their own and I get nice gifts every year, have managed to steer them away from cut flowers I watch die or boxes of candy which only end up resting on my hips or outlandishly prices purses to more practical things which I can really use but I miss the looks of expectation on little faces as they wonder if Mom will like their offerings (I still have them all and they are not clutter they are precious memories). So if I win this I will divide it evenly with them and envy them the priceless gifts they will get from my granddaughters.

I want to win this basket sooooooo bad for my mom. She has raised my daughter since she was 5 (now 22) because I was an alcoholic (now 13 years sober). She did not have to take on that responsibility but she did a great job. My daughter will be graduating from FSU with honors in Dec. Now my mom, at age 67, is raising my six year old niece, works three jobs and she volunteers both in church and in the community. My mother loves unconditionally, would give the shirt off her back to help ANYONE, and has more faith in her little finger than a whole church combined. My mother is an angel from heaven and deserves this gift basket.

My children are grown up now, with children of their own. I raised them as a single parent and remember those days as a busy and turbulent time, yet the most wonderful days of my life. I wrote this memo to them a couple of years ago, and I think, at least hope, that other moms, single or otherwise, can relate to my feelings and my plea to my children.

Children, I cherish the thought that you are thinking of me on this day and I am touched in a wonderful way by any remembrance or show of appreciation, on your part, for my efforts and/or my genes. However, please don’t give me a little glass plaque that says “Mother†or “Mom†or even “The Best Momâ€. I know that I am a mom; I know that you know that I am a mom and we are all aware that “Best Mom†may be a bit of an exaggeration.
Please, no cut flower arrangement either, rather a lovely living plant that I could nurture and enjoy and watch grow as I once did you.
The very best tribute to my motherhood would be a picture or a collage of pictures (preferably, nicely framed) of you, all grown up, with your spouses and your beautiful children, being together, hard at work or play. I will be looking for and hoping to see a twinkle of enjoyment and love of life in the eyes of my offspring. This is all I truly need to realize my hopes and dreams for you, my children, and make my life a success.
P.S. A nice lavishly planned dinner with no dishes to do would be a suitable alternative to the “Mother†plaque.
