Minecraft is huge in our house, from the books, to the video games, toys, and even accessories. For the past couple of weeks my daughter has insisted on wearing a pair of Minecraft pig earrings that I made her every day. It was while I was looking at these that I got my inspiration for this fun Minecraft pig treat.
These Minecraft Pig Treats are so simple to make, easy enough for the kids to do with just a little help from you, and so much fun.
All you need are strawberry Voortman Wafers, fondant and food dye or spray.
I prefer to make homemade marshmallow fondant, but store-bought fondant works just as well. Allrecipes.com has a great recipe for homemade marshmallow fondant which I use regularly. Tip: Make it the day before you need to use it.
Once you’ve let your fondant refrigerate overnight break it into pieces and add color. I used a chocolate food coloring to turn the fondant brown for the nostrils, but had a black edible food spray on hand so used that for the black part of the eyes. If you do use black food dye, make sure to get one that doesn’t have a taste to it.
Roll and then cut the fondant into small squares to make the nostrils and eyes and set aside.
Next, assemble your Minecraft pig using strawberry Voortman Wafers
Add the eyes and you are done. It’s that simple.
