I am writing this post from a hockey rink, waiting for my son’s second game of the day. Due to an ill-timed hockey tournament, we are spending much of Easter weekend at the ice rink. It feels cruel to leave the newly opened daffodils and the (finally) warm sunshine to sit in a cold, stale ice rink. But at least the sun is waiting for us between games. (The fickle Vancouver sun rarely stays put an entire weekend. But this weekend, she seems to be in the mood to bless.)
Whether you are spending your Easter weekend hunting for eggs in sun dappled grass fields, coping with snow that just won’t end, or watching your children’s sports tournaments, I hope you have some moments of peace, reflection, and love. I hope you are able to hug your children tight and remember that the unconditional love we have for them is the best way for us to comprehend the incomprehensible love and mercy of God.
