Am I seriously letting you see this???

We bloggers do crazy things…

As I’ve admitted to you in Tackle It Tuesday, I let a little bit of monetary motivation (and a serious need for a kick-in-the-pants) convince me to reveal the inner corners of chaos in my home.

I let the camera crew from Pledge into my townhouse to record the mess and give Trish Suhr the evidence she needed to hold a cleaning intervention.

You can click over to see the embarrassing video here.

But in my defense, since we recorded that video, I have done a total re-org of my kids’ toys and I’ll reveal the after photos in our upcoming Tackle It Tuesday.

Okay, go ahead and laugh. I deserve it…

AWESOME video. You are so cool to “invite” us into your home. I’m always intrigued by how other moms make their lives “work.”

It’s hard to find “balance,” isn’t it? I think it’s pretty much impossible to have groomed and well-behaved and loved kids, a rock-solid marriage, a booming blog, a business, AND an immaculate house. Not to mention time for friends, fitness, and extended family. Something’s gotta “give,” right?

You should be very proud of all that you are and all that you do, Susan. You’re an inspiration.

Susan, I can relate to the piles of clean clothes that have not been put away and the unpacked suitcases! I am always buying bins and trying to setup organization systems, but they never seem to work! You are not in this alone! You should post “after” pictures or an “after” video!

Ladies, bless you all for your kind words!!!

It makes me feel sooooo much better that others can relate to my chaos.

And this Tackle it Tuesday you can see me tackle those toys.

YAY, I am not the only one who has the same problem. The toys in my basement look the same. I just cleaned out my florida room. Next onto the basement.

Wow, Susan!! It would have taken some serious sedatives for me to allow a camera crew into MY house. We have the exact same messes. I also have dungeons where you cannot even see the floor. (PS: Thank you FAERYLANDMOM for suggesting the “Spring Cleaning for Normal People” book. I just bought it and CAN’T WAIT to get into action!)

PS: My husband JUST PUT AWAY his suitcase from a trip he took 3 weeks ago. Yep, sister, we all do it!! 🙂

Great video! I definitely know where you’re coming from with the clutter. I’m in the same mess. I recently committed to tackling one small project a day so as not to feel overwhelmed. Problem is once I finish a room, my kids (hubby included) mess it up again. :)…O.K I do too.

Well, now I know why I had to hand back the Tackle it Tuesday job! That was a great video. Good job, and I am sure you are enjoying a clean and organized home because of it.

You make me feel better too! I salute you for the braveness… I didn’t really invite them to see my kids’ rooms…

Girl you make me feel better. Up until last week my daughter’s room had a crib full of clothes in it. We took the crib down, I thought, “what’s the point she doesn’t sleep in it”. Now it still has toy clutter. I am glad I’m not the ONLY one!

Does it make you feel better that we’re all in the same boat?! My house looks similar… with fewer toys. 😉 Clothes all over the place. Why, oh why, don’t I put things away?!

I’m going to say what everyone else is saying: I’m so GLAD I’m not the only one!

I hope you’re able to find something that works for you. I just downloaded Simple Mom’s ebook Spring Cleaning for Normal People, and it helped me so much. Your house was like mine – not everything had its own place. Now, everything does. I just have to put it there now. 🙂

That Trish is a funny gal! Thanks for sharing your home with us. I am amazed at all the toys and clothes you have for your kids. As I sit here and type I am looking at Easter baskets in the corner of my office thinking ‘why haven’t I put those away!’ I always think that having 18 month old twins is a good excuse to not clean. When the fact is they nap 2 hours a day and go to bed at 7. I guess I am just plain exhausted after the long day.
    Good luck on your intervention.

    Susan,

Thanks for sharing. It makes me feel so much better knowing that I am not the only one that just can’t keep up with everything. 🙂

I have to say that I love the clothes in the crib. We hava an extra crib in my daughters room right now that is filled with clean laundry that needs to be put away. I had to laugh.

What a great video to share with us. I am sure I am not alone when I say, so I am not the only one who leaves clothes in suitcases!? LOL. We are busy and human. No biggy. Beautiful kitchen, by the way.
