On June 23rd, 2008, the Lord blessed the Freeman’s with a one pound miracle.
Kayleigh was born three months early as a fragile 10.5 inch long baby and weighed only 1 pound 1 ounce. She spent the next 11 months surpassing expectations and blessing everyone around her.
On May 11, 2009, Kayleigh returned to the Lord.
“Kayleigh rests peacefully, in no more discomfort, and in no more pain. She looked so beautiful tonight as she took her last and final breath, and her beating heart took one last and final beat. Her sparkling brown eyes are now closed and her body now remains still. She is now in the presence of our Lord, her broken body made new, surrounded in the comforting arms of those we’ve loved who greeted her in the glorious Heaven we know.”
Kayleigh’s parents Aimee and Adam have shared their journey and their faith with the blogosphere and the world through their blog Kayleigh’s Story. Adam also shares his experiences at our sister site 5 Minutes for Special Needs.
The blogging world has wept and prayed for Kayleigh. We have also all been blessed by the photos of her beautiful face and the stories of her strength and love.
And now we join with the Freemans to celebrate Kayleigh’s life and to remember how she blessed this world.
Please visit Kayleigh’s Story to watch her memorial video tribute and share your love with Aimee and Adam.
You can find Kayleigh’s dad Adam on Facebook and on Twitter.

I have been reading about Kayleigh on and off since I happened upon their blog a few months ago and I was really saddened to hear about her passing. What amazes me – like you mentioned – is the faith and strength her parents have shown. God bless them.

My son was born at 28 weeks too.
He is a miracle.
I can feel the parents pain and understand what they have endured.

I can’t help but cry. What a hard thing to bear (unimaginably, overwhelmingly, unspeakably hard!).
I’m so inspired by Adam and Aimee…their resiliency, their joy, their faith, their willingness to surrender her to God so freely. I wish there family much healing and much peace in the coming months.

Pink balloons for Kayleigh. Sending up pink balloons with messages of love for Kayleigh now that she is in heaven is one way Adam and his family have said we can show our love.
And prayers. Prayers to help this brave family regroup and continue on.
