Conversation with my seven year old son:

“Oh Jackson — I can’t believe you ripped your brand new jeans! Do you want me to sew them up for you?”

“Yeah… or you could pay someone to.”

It’s funny! You’re teaching your son about Delegation (ha ha ha)

I strongly believe that if you can afford it, you should hire out for everything you don’t want to do. That leaves more time spent for cultivating things you do want to do.

    You are probably super busy.

Although it could be a perfect oppertunity for a lesson in sewing. I remember teaching my oldest how to do a button properly – now he will offer to sew buttons on :))

Aw! Hilarious! Lately, my kids’ response to anything that happens: “Are you going to blog about that?”

My daughter would just say, “Oh, I’ll call Grammy and see if she can fix them for me.” 🙂

Seven is old enough to learn how to sew…For my daughter to realize how things “really” work I have her help me with the clean up/repair so she knows more about it. Not that accidents don’t happen and kids shouldn’t have fun but knowing basic skills is always useful too.

Oops, typo. That should be “my” son. I hate when I do that!

Funny, it probably means your very busy and like to delegate. Nothing wrong with that! Because I’m always crafting, me son thinks I can make anything. Recently he asked me to make him a rainbow. I’m still working on that one.

    Janice,

As a mom of 3 boys who regularly rip the knees out of their jeans, I highly recommend the KidVantage program at Sears. Sears? Yep, it’s good on the Levi’s they sell and the Land’s End stuff too. The way the program works is this: Save your receipt. When the jeans or khakis or sweatpants rip, just take them right back and they will give you a BRAND NEW pair in the same size. I didn’t know about this until my 2nd son, who is the ultimate jean destroyer, came along. It’s saved me hundreds, I bet!

Yeah, or get money from the atm with your card. That machine just tosses money at you.

Yeah, you could even pay for it with a check. Doesn’t matter if you have money if you have a check…LOL
