What type of tea do you drink?

I’d never been a tea person. When offered a cup of tea, I’d usually decline, saying, “No thanks, I’m fine with water.”

But last summer, while getting a pedicure before Blog Her, I tasted a raspberry green tea and I was instantly hooked.

I couldn’t leave the place without buying some! (Sure, the first one’s free… right?)

So, the trouble? The price tag. Yes this luxury spa sells it for over $50 per bottle. (A bottle makes over 60 servings though.) Although I just looked it up online — it’s called Pure Inventions — and it looks like I can get it for about $25.

I’m loving this raspberry green tea. I drink it cold throughout the day and I think it is going to be great for helping me to lose my holiday weight.

One of the things I love about the Pure Inventions tea is that I don’t have to ‘brew’ it. I just add a few drops to my water. So quick.

But now I’m on a new tea kick… and I’m looking for suggestions. After my yoga class last week, my instructor gave us a cup of Tetley’s Red Tea, and I loved it.

So, I’m thinking there must be a million other fabulous brands of green tea and other healthy teas that I should try.

Can you help me out? What types and brands of tea do you drink?

My husband and I are normally really hardcore coffee drinkers, and have been making a diligent effort to try to cut back and switch to different drinks. Tea has been our number one focus since it’s another hot drink and therefore, and easy substitution!

We’ve both been drinking a lot of green tea. My favorites lately are green tea with pomegranate, peach apricot honey blush, and vanilla caramel.

It’s fun to experiment with new flavors!

I love Yogi Tea. It has so many different flavors like Nursing Mother’s tea which I drank to increase my supply in the early days of breastfeeding. Their teas are grouped in categories like Spirit Teas, Mind Teas, Body Teas and Green Teas. They are very good. I requested a free sample and they sent me 3 different teas. Here is the link so you can try it for yourself

I love pear tea. I can’t remember who makes it because I swiped about ten tea bags from my mom and left the carton with her. Good thing she loves me! I do know she got it from Fishers. I don’t know if it’s a national chain or just local to us Ohioans. I do know I have not been able to find it at Wal-Mart. Hope that helps.

My favorites are Bigelow Fruit n’ Almond or Mint Medley. But what really trips my trigger and eases all the rough edges of my day is a home-made chai latte. Here’s the recipe:

In an x-lg mug, heat milk until JUST about to boil. Dunk two Stash Black Chai Spice (I prefer de-caf at night by the fire) until preferred strength. Add desired amount of sugar or sweetener. Sit back with a cozy blanket and enjoy. It’s an experience and a healthy drink all at once. If you really really need the “froth” then whisk the milk when hot after tea has steeped.

    Mmmmmmmm!

Earl Grey or English breakfast tea with a dollap of honey and a tsp. of milk is divine….I am not a tea person either but love this when I make the time to prepare it! Of course it needs to be a chilly day or evening…not like this lousy HOT and WINDY and DRY California weather we are having now!

Oh I love love love tea. My dream is to open up a tea room with my mom. I go to a store in the mall called Teavana and they let you try all sorts of loose tea. Loose tea is definitely the way to go. If you like bagged tea, the Celestial Chamomile is so relaxing, and there’s one called Sleepytime that’s Chamomile and Mint. Very relaxing and refreshing at night (especially after a bath). Those are in the supermarket. For caffeine, Starbucks’ Tazo Brand “Awake” is really really yummy for a bagged tea and works very well for a pick me up. Love it!

I love drinking hot tea especially when it is cold. I have been drinking green tea by Traditional Medicinals, which I love. I checked out Pure Inventions, what great products, but I was bummed to see that there is no caffeine. I do like the little kick that I get from my green tea 🙂 Traditional Medicinals has lots of choices. I love Lemon Echinacea and Throat Coat. 🙂

My husband likes Rooibos tea, and I do too. It can be hard to find, but it’s sweet and spicy and herbal and yummy. It’s one of the few teas I don’t sweeten before drinking.

Myself, I’m a tea-instead-of-coffee girl. I drink black tea with sugar and milk. Earl Grey is my favorite, but I like other kinds as well.

I mostly just stick to water and fruit juice. If it’s really cold outside, I opt for apple cider or a white tea.

I slowed down on the tea drinking for a while, but my husband is insisting the thermostat be turned down lower, so I find myself looking for decaf teas in the evening that will warm me up.

I like tea, also. I like most flavors. I usually purchase Celestial Seasonings because it is available at the grocery store. Quite a few years ago I stumbled onto Throat Coat in the health food section of the grocery store. It is an herbal tea for sore throats and it really works. We brew it by the cup adding lemon juice and honey. It doesn’t taste the best but helps the throat not hurt. They also have one called Breathe Easy that we have tried just not as often.

Stash has some of the most aromatic teas around I find. I’m a big fan too of Genmaicha green tea, or “popcorn tea” as I call it. It has tiny kernels of popped corn in it, which gives it a very distinctive (slightly nutty) taste. The loose leaf version is the best if you can find it!

OK. I have to admit that I’ve been suckered into the costly tea thing too. I went to Teavana at Christmas, tried their tea, and loved it (the Bamboo White Tea)! I proceeded to buy it and found out while I was getting rung up that it was about $12 for 2oz. Ouch! That made my 6oz purchase a bit pricey. Since then, I’ve heard you can buy tea MUCH cheaper on-line so I need to look into that next. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy every sip of my pricey stuff!

I love tea. It ranks 2nd only to coffee lol. One of my favorites is Dandelion Tea. It helps flush the liver of toxins and I really like the taste as well. I went to my local herb store and picked up an already made loose tea for weight loss. It’s a mixture of herbs that help aid in taking off the weight. It takes great as well. I also just like plain ol’ peppermint tea. Green tea with mango is nice too. I could go on and on about teas as I have done so much research on herbs and their benefits. Drink what you can because it will benefit you in one way or another. Try to drink 3 times a day. Drink hot tea with lemon with your meals to aid in digestion.
    Okay I’m done lol.

I’ve been a life long tea drinker. My sentimental favorite is Lipton Black Tea steeped in a fancy porcelain tea pot with milk and sugar and drank out of porcelain tea cups with saucers. Best drank with my mom, best friend, and her mom (who was from Ireland and had quite an Irish brough). They (my Irish friends) would also dip their toast in their tea and eat it all soggy, I could never do that, blech!

Now I love chai, and honey vanilla camomille, though during my last pregnancy I drank Lipton Black Tea Decaf about 3 times a day!

If you get a chance visit a tea room. Such a nice experience. I shared high tea with my daughters while on a shopping trip in AZ and plan to do it again. They loved the setting and the food is so fun. I have to say the Tea Rose room in Mesa AZ made the best lemon curd and bread pudding i have ever tasted. It was nice to slow down and enjoy an afternoon with the girls without the hipe most fast food places bring. The tea was so relaxing we hated to leave but we had shops just calling our names lol.

oooooh a question I have a real answer for! My favorite brand is The Republic of Tea–and the best thing about it for you is everything they have is available mail order from their website, so you don’t have to try to find a local provider.

My absolute favorite is the Blackberry Sage, which comes in decaf too. I carry a travel tin with me all the time so I can have a cup wherever I am that may not have tea (or any good tea!) I also like their blueberry varieties, but they have lots of great choices including white and green teas and “red” (which isn’t really tea).

My other favorite is real chai; I’m a bit of a chai snob having my introduction to the spicy concoction in Santa Cruz where it’s made full-bodied and spicy enough to bite your tongue. I don’t care for most of the commercial imitations so I played around and have come up with my own version that I drink a lot in the winter. I even give it as Christmas gifts (let me know if you want me to send you some).

But definitely order something from The Republic of Tea; you’ll get on their mailing list and get their catalogs regularly and they always include a sample of something.

When we had our online “Tea Party” a while back, I got to try several teas from Mighty Leaf and I was really impressed. I would definitely encourage you to try one of their sampler boxes. Their teabags are little silken pouches! Adorable and yummy. Here is the link to my review:

I LOVE my Republic of Tea Vanilla Almond Decaf…I drink it several nights a week before bed. So relaxing! I’m really enjoying seeing other commenters’ favorites so I have some new ones to try!

Aside from my standard morning cup of English Breakfast, I like peppermint herbal tea. Stash is also my favorite go to brand for that. I also LOVE Revolution Tea company’s Golden Chamomile. It helps me relax when I am really feeling stressed. And I am also a lover of chai. My favorite is the original Oregon Chai and the sugar free version as well. You mix it with milk so it is filling and a nice warm yummy treat. I call it liquid Christmas or pumpkin pie. I guess I just REALLY love tea.

Well, I don’t do caffeinated tea much, but I do a lot of herbal teas. TAZO’s Passion or Wild Sweet Orange (my new fav!) are really good and smell heavenly too! If you liked that red tea you should see if you can find Celestial Seasonings Madagascar Vanilla Red tea. It’s really different than other teas, but very good! It’s hard for me to find around here so I currently have two boxes on hand!
Oh, and if you want to try black tea I recommend finding one with jasmine. It’s a nice flavor!

I have always loved tea. When I started on my weight loss journey a year ago I used a product line Herbalife and they have a tea called herbal concentrate in 4 flavors. One is Raspberry and it is absolutely amazing hot or cold. Each cup burns 80 calories which is totaly cool.

Tazo’s passion tea is different. And great. I drink it all the time now, after getting some in a restaurant. You can find it at Starbucks. I keep several boxes, you know, in case there’s a national disaster or something.

The daily choice of Brits is PG Tips. We import it on our side of the pond. It’s very simple. I love Earl Grey. Iced Chai.

I drink apple cinnamon spice tea. I just get it at the regular grocery store. It is like Autumn in a cup.

I love TAZO tea, too — the chai, the Earl Grey with extra bergamot, the Awake. We are also huge fans of Stash teas, which have to be ordered online (they only have 1 retail store, I believe).

    Yay for tea!

I like TAZO tea. It’s good AND affordable. A good friend (who knows how much I love tea) gave me a box of their assorted sampler tea. I especially like their “Calm”, chamomile flavored herbal tea. In the middle of a crazy day, it made me feel well, calm. (http://www.tazo.com)

We are HUGE tea people. Teas are either: black, green or white?
Generally, we like black tea that you make from loose tea leaves. I like Twinings from London. Also, with Green teas (probably what you had) they are much better in the loose tea form. When I was in Thailand, I picked some up cheaply, but they are a little pricier over here. I’ve noticed that my local grocery is carrying loose teas in self-self containers (like coffee beans)–very fun! Also, the World Market carries a great international variety. Green teas tend to have more health benefits, but I am so fond of the black variety. If anyone comes to our home, we ALWAYS serve TEA.

Every year about this time when the temps go sub-z, I break out the hot tea at night. Faves this year: Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane (green tea with peppermint–which is seasonal, of course), CS Tension Tamer and Good Earth decaf original (naturally sweet and I don’t know why). I love my nighttime tea with microwave popcorn.

I don’t really drink tea to be healthy – ha! I just love the taste of Chai because it’s spicy and has a bold flavor. Then I add milk & sugar, so it’s more of a treat than anything else. This is also why I love Starbucks’ Chai Tea Latte – yum!
