There is a reason we don’t have more shots of Susan and me with all four of our kids.
Now, I have so much more empathy for my parents when they were trying to get family photos of us growing up. There were four of us kids in our family and we all dreaded the annual family photo. (The outtakes are hilarious to look at now though!)

Susan M. Heim says
We go through the same ordeal every Christmas with our four boys. But that’s okay…they’re not perfect in real life, so why should they be perfect in their pictures? The silly ones are always good for a laugh.
Amy says
It looks like the photographer captured each personality just right. 🙂 Happy W.W.
MomSoapbox says
Looks like a fun picture – kids seem to be doing their own thing but that’s what makes it look more fun!

Petula says
That’s a great shot. So real! LOL. It takes me a lot of time to get a shot of myself and my four too. When taking pics of the kids a sense of humor is always necessary.
Carolyn says
LOL – that just shows us a bit of what you go through :o)
Tamy ~ 3 Sides of Crazy says
Too cute – good luck!
Naomi says
love that pic!
BecauseImTheMommy says
I have SO many of these pictures. I thought it was bad with just 2, but adding a third is utter mayhem. I find it interesting that it’s our middle one who absolutely HATES it when the camera comes out.
Ambajam says
Wow- what a great photo. You all look so happy. 🙂 Happy WW!
Sherry says
Definitely hard to get a pic of so many, but what fun it is! 😀
MaryBeth says
Ummmm, now you know what it’s like for me to get all my kiddos together for a photo!! Four girls age 3 and under…. just like herding cats, I like to think.

What a great family shot, squirming notwithstanding. 😉
SarahHub says
Looks just like our family shots. In the last one, my niece is leaning back, and it looks like she doesn’t have a head. Oh, well. Someone has to sacrifice, right?
Aloha Monkey says
That’s a great shot. I love outtakes and candid shots too. The subjects look less fake.
jessica says
You all are so cute! What nice families you have!

Special moments & photo ~ it’ll be so nice to look back upon some day!

Group photos (especially with kids) are rough, aren’t they? I like them with a bit of personality, though 🙂
Kari says
HILARIOUS!!!!! 😀 Glad my family is not the only family that takes pictures like that….but hey at least they are REAL, right??!! 🙂 Have a great day y’all!
killlashandra says
Yep, I know about those attempts at a family picture. Sometimes I think it might be easier to just photoshop one together out of many different pictures. 🙂
DJ says
What a fun portrait of all of you!
Jenny says
Ah, that’s a great shot!! I love photos like that.
aclaypot4him says

At least you can look back and have a laugh remembering how you always tried to get it together. Maybe when they are older, it might get better? Maybe?

We have had the same trouble with capturing photos of our two sons and my niece. Still those funny shots are priceless like the one above 🙂
MommyWizdom says
Those shots are not easy – you did pretty well. At least you can see everyone’s head! Nice job – they’re adorable!!
Come check out my new meme, Pet Peeve Tuesday!
Andrea says
That is too funny! Not one of the kids is looking directly at the camera with both eyes!! How cute!
Robin ~ PENSIEVE says
There are three times we attempt family photos: Christmas, Easter and at the beach in the summer. These are the only times I’m concerned my children might need therapy ’cause I’m so manic about it (which doesn’t help a bit).
This shot of y’all? STINKIN’ ADORABLE! It’s just “life” bein’ lived, ya know?
So wish Susan was making a stop in Chattanooga on her way to Atlanta; OR that I was still living in Atlanta…I’d show her the town and I’m pretty sure we’d never stop talking blawg stuff!
Susan if you check in, you’ve gotta eat at The Varsity downtown….it’s an institution!
🙂
Gattina says
Oh, that’s a very cute family picture ! so natural !
Tracy says
Great photo! I know what you mean about getting lots of kids to smile…at the same time with OPEN eyes~ we have 5 kids and family photos are hilarious!!!!!!
Busymama Kellie says
Yes, I know exactly what you mean. My kids think it’s hilarious to make faces. Or close their eyes. Or look at the floor…
Missy says
I LOVE that photo. It’s so much more you guys than a “proper” posed one would be.
mom2my9 says
LOVE the picture! You girls are gorgeous! You look identical. Are you? I have twins who are 6 months old and I have been asked that question about a million times, so I guess you’ve probably been asked about 20 million. Anyway, great photo! Thanks for all you do!
DOMESTIC DIVA says
Mine is up, actually early this time. Come check it out. This photo showcases my son’s favorite accessory….
