Wordless Wednesday – Reading

Sometimes I feel sad that my kids are far apart in age. But one thing I have been so excited about is that Jackson is old enough to read to his little sister!!

Jackson is a bright little guy and can read quite well on his own now. So reading baby books is a breeze for him. I snapped these pictures of Jackson and Olivia while they read some new books from Scholastic.

(I love Scholastic books and buy them regularly for my kids. If you want to win a bag of baby books from Scholastic, don’t miss our contest. You have until July 8th to enter.)

Thanks to Uisce for creating Wordless Wednesday.

We have four children, 18 years old, 16 years old, almost 3 years old and just 9 months old. Our children are very close and I feel truly benefit from their special relationship and difference in age. And yes, reading is one of their favorite past-times!

You have a beautiful photo and two very beautiful children!

    Happy WW!

I even cleared the skillet supper off of my link but it must not have deleted. Oh well. Sorry about that.

Child spacing is always a quandary. There are pros and cons to having them closer or further apart. I think it is great you got at least two, no matter what their spacing!

What a wonderful picture. My kids are spaced with about 5-6 years between each (14,7,3). There are both pros and cons with this spacing. I’ve had alone time with each while the other has started school.

Listen my a person that has a 11 1/2 year gap between her and her only other sibling, same parents, Your kids will be fine. The fighting is probably way less! I love my brother more than life itself and we have along had a good time together.
In a month I will have children 15, 10, 5……. no not planned that way but it works out sooooo fine! I have a built in babysitter. They are not into each others toys, books, friends, or interests. I love it! Each kids gets one on one time, preschool years, with mom while the others are at school.
    Great shot!

It really looks like she’s tracking right with Jackson, their eyes are directed to the same spot. Isn’t it a help to have an older brother? It buys you time…sometimes…when you really NEED it.

I bet in a few years when you “look back”, this will be one of your favorite pictures.
