I love watching TV. And by “love” I mean I get all giddy inside when I actually get a chance to be alone with my TV.
Curling up with a pillow and a recorded show at the end of my way-too-long day is like comforting myself with a bowl full of ice cream. (And it is even better when I let myself have that bowl of ice cream too!) It may not be the healthiest way to relax – but it.feels.so.good.
One bonus of nursing – a great excuse to watch TV.
Of course when Jackson is awake, I don’t get to indulge in TV. But my late night feeds are a treat because I get to snuggle up with Olivia and watch TV while I nurse her.
Tonight, I watched The New Adventures of Old Christine. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a riot. She seriously cracks me up. Have you seen it?
A show that gets me really excited (I am tingly just thinking about it) is Project Runway. Of course it is torture waiting until the next show. I just wish I could have a new episode of Project Runway waiting for me every night.
Since I am in Canada, Project Runway airs behind the states. (We are a few episodes behind I think.) I made the tragic mistake of going to the Project Runway website and right there – in the middle of the screen – it announced that Sweet Pea is sent home before Bryant Park! Aach!! I don’t want to know that yet! I want to watch and find out. Oh – that hurt. But I will still watch and savor every little second of every show left. And when it is over, I will grieve. But until then, I will enjoy.
So – because I am a Canadian, living behind the Project Runway times, I can’t participate in online Project Runway fun. Obviously it is dangerous for me to even land on a site.
But Blogging Project Runway did just post this hilarious Tim Gunn with Conan O’Brien interview. I actually saw it live last night – I am up far too late – and it is hysterical. If you enjoy Tim Gunn, make sure you click over and watch it.
The strike may have temporarily taken away most of my favorite shows – but fortunately there are still a few to keep me going. And since I don’t have much time at all to watch – a few is all I really need.
So what are you watching?

Oh, my. We’ve been hooked since we have access to Online viewing. We go through stages. We don’t have Cable, so all our shows are from the big 4.
Latest:
1. Friday Night Lights, all episodes are available at NBC.
2. Life
3. American Gladiator
4. The Sarah Conner Chronicles
My Favorites:
Dancing With the Stars, Lost, Grey’s Anatomy

I don’t get cable/sat. so I miss out on alot of the shows I would LOVE to veg out with. Our TV gets 5 channels so I find myself watching alot of courtroom dramas. Although I am a faithful watcher of Dr. Phil. He’s helped me fold many a pile of laundry!

I never loved tv as much before I had kids. Movies were so much more complex and something to “be able to get my teeth into.” Now after kids, just give me my tivo and 40 minutes alone!
I am currently in Costa Rica and understand about the trauma of finding something out pre-watching. I have to stay away from the computer when they announce the Survivor winners for as long as it takes to get to watch it! I am a little behind on the project runway too, but so in love with the show. I really like Chris and am so glad he got a second shot at it.
I am a reality show junkie (but more the making things type than the bug eating). I love the So you think you can dance? but not the dancing with the stars. I am not even getting to watch American Idol (no Fox here right now, at least none that I can figure out).
For plot-driven shows:
Heroes, Pushing daisies, journeyman, elistone, law and order, how I met your mother, and carpoolers is kind of intersting.
But boy do I love me my tv.

I like watching Celebrity Apprentice. This season has been a lot of surprises.

Hmmm… I also watch tv while nursing. I use our digital recorder and tape shows that come on from 8-10 and watch them when Peanut wakes up to eat…. I also cannot wait for The Office. Prison Break was great, but is over! 🙁 I am watching Survivor, American Idol, Wife Swap, Jon and Kate Plus 8…can you tell I like reality tv?! I could go on!

I love Project Runway and Top Chef.

I just got hooked again to American Idol. I haven’t watched itin a couple of seasons but this time around the contestants appear to have some talent. I also love, love, love Friday Night Lights!
Shera says
OK, I’ll admit it (blush) we’re faithful American Idol fans! We wait for a new season to begin, cringe through the audition episodes, cry (well I do, no one else in the family does) with the “rejected” in Hollywood week and love every minute of the show!
Other than that with the exception of America’s Funniest Home videos to get the oldest boys rolling on the floor we pretty much only watch preschool shows around here.

Oh my husband and I get so excited when we see that there is a new episode of House coming on. Of course, right now American Idol is what is on at our house! I also enjoy Intervention, The O’Reilly Factor, Home Makeover, and all the old movies on Turner Classic Movies!

Just two shows:
1. Lost (ABC)
2. Psych (USA)

I love Big Brother and American Idol. My most popular blog these days is my chotskies blog where I recap AI and BB.
Karen Woodward says
LOST is my only love on TV. I could do without the silly set for the rest of the week.
Jessica says

1. Grey’s Anatomy
2. Big Brother

4. CSI
5. Criminal Minds
I think that is it for now!
PS.. I LOVE MY TIVO

We love Lost and Prison Break. We are also watching AI. We’re very disappointed that 24 won’t come on until January 2009. We have season premiere and season finale parties.

Oh man! I agree with Deb about the DVR box! I can’t stand to miss my shows and I am completely addicted to TV in general. You name it I watch it. House, Bones, all 3 Law & Orders, Criminal Minds, How I Met Your Mother, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Medium, Supernatural (hot guys lol), Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes, The Apprentice, Ghost Whisperer, The Biggest Loser, Shark…I think that’s it! LOL My goodness!
Heather says
I secretly loved those middle of the night nursing sessions. There was never really anything good on (we don’t have cable so it’s 5 channels to choose from) but it didn’t really matter.
Deb says
I love to watch t.v. too and love the invention of the DVR box! I can watch at my leisure. I love Christine but I’ve never seen Project Runway. I did a happy dance when the writer’s strike was over. I was getting tired of all the “new” shows they scraped the bottom of the barrel to find and horrible reality shows they started bringing out! I need t.v. to keep me sane and give me some vegging time in my life!
Christine says
I love:
American Idol
Nip Tuck
House
Boston Legal
Las Vegas
I DVR them, and fast forward through the commercials!
Mandy says
We just started watching LOST this season, so we are a bit behind. I loved watching TV at night when I nursed. It didn’t even bother me to wake up because I could just snuggle on the couch with my little girl and space outr in TV land…Have a great day!
Shauna says
LOST and The Office are my only must-see shows.
Veggiemomof2 says
The only thing I get excited about watching is any CSI episode. I really like Vegas & Miami though because DH, DD, & I all watch those together.
Danielle says
I am so with you on Prison Break. It jumped the shark a long time ago and I am still addicted.
What other shows have jumped the shark?

I love Prison Break. I can’t resist hot guys in sweaty shirts. I also love Smallville- hot guys in super hero costumes. I think I see a trend here. Where does the fact that I love watching Ellen fit in?
Char says
I hate to brag about it (as I’m in the states), but I am SUPER excited to see the show tonight with everyone from this season chatting it up with Heidi & Tim. It’s become one of my favorite shows, and I hate to see the season end in the upcoming weeks.
Terri H says
I have to confess, I’m a reality show fan within the limits of Dancing With the Stars and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Jana (sidetrack'd) says
The writer’s strike has deprived us of The Office for way too long; I can’t wait until it is back in a few weeks! I also watch The Biggest Loser (satisfies my reality TV/competition needs) and hubby and I watch Lost together.
a happier girl says
I love Project Runway too. My new favorite show I’ve discovered during the writer’s strike is Jon and Kate Plus 8. It’s about a family that had twins followed by sextuplets. The parents are funny and it’s inspiring to watch them handle 8 kids so calmly.
Rebecca Robertson says
I am beyond addicted to Prison Break, Greys Antomy and Desperate Housewives. I know, not the best shows, but they are way to addicting…it has helped that the writer’s strict has been going on becuase then I am not glued to the tv, but now that is over, we are back on soon!!!
Adventures In Babywearing says
I love PR, too, and the Blogging Project Runway blog! I am into the top 24 of American Idol right now- pretty good! And lots of Scrubs on DVD!

I totally feel your pain about the delay in reality shows. I was just about to blog about how my husband and I are getting into American Idol, and the shows airs for us a day later than everyone else in the States. (We’re in the Middle East.) I’m gingerly visiting sites I love, hoping that I don’t see any details, and quickly clicking away when I suspect I will!
