I’m honestly amazed at the longevity of the Harry Potter craze. This may be one of the most successful children’s literature franchises ever. Do you agree? The first book came out over 12 years ago, which means that a couple of generations of kids (and their parents!) have already enjoyed these books.
The first movie came out in November 2001, with the final movie set to release in June 2011, giving the movies a ten-year run for the books which took place over 7 years in the lives of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley and his whole family.
It really is incredible.
We are happy to partner with our sponsor to offer you the Ultimate Edition DVDs (or Blu-Ray) for years 3 and 4. These would make an excellent gift for that Potter-obsessed kid in your life. And let me remind you that in terms of Harry Potter, the “kids” who love him range from tweens to well, let’s just say, tweens on up love him. . . .
These Ultimate Edition sets contain hours of extra footage, including “Creating the World of Harry Potter” and featurettes, and full-color booklets.
Just go to the special site that is set up just for 5 Minutes for Mom readers to enter to win a Blu-Ray Player and the Harry Potter special edition DVDs.

The only book series I can think of off the top of my head that’s even older & still going strong is The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe CS Lewis series.
My kids keep telling me we need to upgrade to BluRay, I told them the only way we were doing that any time soon was if we won one lol I have all the Disney movies on both VHS AND DVD already, now I gotta get them on BluRay! 😉 I do love the quality on my brother in law’s BluRay plus HD TV though.

I agree Leighbra. I’d love a Blu-Ray, but I don’t know if I want to buy one.

How exciting! I too am amazed at the longevity of the Harry Potter series. Yes, I am one of those parents over the years that could be found waiting in line for the 12midnight release of any of the books for at least 2 of my 5 kids. And yes, movies and other memorabilia was sure to find it’s way from Santa’s bag to under the Christmas Tree.
Now those two, 25 and 18 still get pretty excited for all things “Potter”. What a wonderful giveaway and prize package that will surely THRILL the lucky “Potter” fan.

Yeah–your kids are the exact right age to have been caught up in the fury!
My daughter is 12. I actually read some before she did, but she quickly caught up with me, but it’s been a fun interest to share.
