We aren’t the only ones who want to spend time at the computer. I am sure it is a safe bet that your kids are begging for computer time too!
But when our young ones take over the keyboard, we want to know that they are safe from internet dangers, viewing non-violent, positive content, and hopefully learning something as well!
So when we were asked to review Jump Start World 1st Grade, I was excited. Jackson has some of the the other Jump Start programs and he loves them.
This new game – Jump Start World 1st Grade – did not disappoint either!
Today I loaded it on to my laptop and handed it to Jackson. He took over and successfully navigated himself around, had a ton of fun – and without even knowing it, worked on his reading, math and critical thinking skills.
Like all kids, Jackson loves to complete “levels” and proudly showed me how he was working on earning the “leadership keys” that the game uses to reward the child’s achievements. “You earn them by doing good work,” Jackson declared.
After he came in from hockey tonight, he saw me writing up this review. “Mom – can I play it again now!?!”
Well, if I am going to have to share my computer with my six year old, this is the kind of game I want him playing!

This looks pretty interesting. I’ll have to check them out. 🙂

Yeah, my daughter always loved those games and learned so much! My son is 3 1/2 and he’s starting to play some as well.
I don’t like sharing the computer though 🙂

My daughter has the Kindergarten version. She is a bit young for it (she will be 4 in March) but she loves to play it anyway and I know that as she gets older, she will get much better at it. We figured since she sees us on the computer all the time and wants to be on as well–might as well make sure it was worth her (our) while! Thanks for sharing!
