One of our fabulous blogging friends Ciaren Blumenfeld and her co-creater Leane Vandeman have the moms of the blogosphere grabbing their cameras and posting their audition videos for the new reality TV series, Project Mom Casting.
I noticed Ciaren’s first tweets just days ago, but already there is a deadline tonight at 12am PT for those of us who want to audition in NYC during BlogHer ’10.
Well, a reality TV show — about the online mom community?!? You KNOW Susan and I are thrilled and getting our one minute video ready to go. I mean seriously — how could we sit this one out?!?
The vlog has to be under one minute and we also are allowed a 500 word post. It wasn’t clear if we had to choose, so we are giving you BOTH! Because really, we are writers AND we love being on camera.
If you think the producers should consider us for the show, please TWEET for us @5minutesformom, and post on Facebook. You can reach Project Mom Casting at @momcasting and on Project Mom Casting’s Facebook Page.
Living the Life and Spreading the Love…
We are Janice and Susan, the identical twin bloggers behind 5 Minutes for Mom.
We are internet loving, passionately driven, crazy busy moms who changed our lives online and are committed to helping other women do the same.
Our lives are delicately balanced chaos as we tag team our way through the constant demands of motherhood, blogging, and our online businesses. It is hectic and often messy, but it works for us.
We have to confess: we also have another secret weapon – our third business partner – our 69 year old mother Joan who manages our online stores and staff.
In 2003, we came online and have been here ever since, building stores, sites, and blogs.
In 2005, we saw how the online mom community was beginning to grow and so, in the beginning of 2006, we started 5 Minutes for Mom – a site dedicated to promoting and encouraging the online mom community.
While we wish we had the endless energy people think we do, (sometimes during spurts even we think we do!) the truth is there are also dark days, with dark circles under our eyes. There are times of self-doubt and discouragement. But despite battling depression, anxiety, and long term illness, we are still tearing down the road, completely committed to building our online empire and to helping our fellow moms.
Our lives are chaotic and complicated – a sharp contrast from our keeping-it-all-on-schedule-while-checking-our-email online colleagues.
Those who truly know what we are like tell us every day, “You two should be a reality TV show!” We’re flying through our days and barely hanging on, but we are having a blast and creating lives that no woman could have imagined a decade ago.
So many fantastic things have happened already, we would never opt out now!
And the best part is — we are just beginning this journey! Every day it gets even more exciting…
THANKS so much for your support!
