We’re in the countdown of the last few weeks before BlogHer 10 and I’m getting so excited.
This will be my first time in New York and my third BlogHer conference.
Anyone who’s ever been to BlogHer will likely agree that the best part of the event is all the socializing. Really, that’s why we all go!
Catching up with longtime blogging friends and meeting new blogging friends… that’s what BlogHer is all about.
The shot above was from one of my favorite BlogHer moments… It was 2008, Janice and I joined a small group of blogging friends for a spontaneous meetup at a diner in San Francisco. Mary from OwlHaven took this photo of Janice with Melanie from Blogging Basics 101 and Stephanie from Metropolitan Mama.
I loved that dinner because it was totally unplanned and just happened that a bunch of us stepped out of the chaos to get something to eat, chat and laugh.
Even if you’re not going to NYC…
But you don’t need to feel entirely left out if you can’t make it to New York in August… we’re going to be there filming more video interviews to help you meet new bloggers and feel like you can put some faces to names.
Also, I recommend following the #BlogHer twitter conversation and join in. The bloggers who are at BlogHer generally want to extend their network of friends and will likely be very responsive to those who reply to them on Twitter and comment on their blogs.
Basically, the bloggers who lay down the cash to get to BlogHer want to make new blogging friends… so take up their offer and become friends… Even if you’re still at home behind your computer on August 6th.
Here’s a video interview with Esti from Primetime Parenting — a blogger I met for the first time last year in Chicago.
Remember to follow Esti on Twitter @primetimeparent.

I’m so excited for BlogHer to come to NYC. I love this city and think it’s such an exciting place for the most exciting writers (mom bloggers) to gather. I put together this little post full of ideas outside of the conference. Hope you find it helpful and can’t wait to see you in NYC.

Susan! That night was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE part of BlogHer ’08! I loved connecting in a smaller setting w/ blogging friends (including you).
Conferences are great for learning new skills and connecting with brands, but the best thing about them is meeting blog friends – old and new. I am certain of that.
P.S. Do you remember that I was sick that night at dinner (morning sickness – baby #2)? 😉

BlogHer is going to be jam packed this year but I’m sure I’ll see either you or Janice around at some point 🙂 See you then!

Definitely we’ll have to connect… we’re easy to spot with a camera person following us around. LOL
