A lot of nursing and diaper changes…

A blur of nursing and diaper changes…

Okay I don’t have a real “tackle” for you this week. Pretty much it has been ten days of nursing, diaper changes and trying to fit it all in around driving Jackson to school and his activities. I am a little tired of course – but other than that, we are doing great!

Olivia is a champion nurser and, due to a case of jaundice, is sleeping quite a lot. She seems to have a nice temperament and I am enjoying every moment with my sweet little girl.

Jackson adores his baby sister and is constantly begging to hold Olivia and play with her. He is surprisingly gentle with her and loves to snuggle her, kiss her and sing to her. It is so beautiful.

I feel so bad for Susan – still pregnant and uncomfortable – waiting for her little Sophia to arrive and covering my work for me. I have been taking a bit of a “holiday” from my computer this past week. It is the least work I have done since we started 5 Minutes for Mom. I feel quite guilty leaving my work undone and my emails unanswered, but it has been wonderful to concentrate on my children and to try and catch as many naps as I can find (which is tricky with Jackson’s kindergarten schedule.)

So when I get myself back into a bit of a rhythm, I hope to finish off the tackles that I was in the middle of. Fortunately the kids rooms are completed enough – although not perfect enough for photos yet – but at least the kids have their rooms intact.

Susan and our mom are scrambling to get the rooms completed at her house. (They were moving the office to Susan’s basement and making a room for Julia.) We will see if that all gets done before Sophia arrives. Susan and our mom are so busy with work it is difficult to get enough time for tackling such huge projects. As well, Susan has been feeling really bad lately with pain, contractions and exhaustion. Oh the fun of the last days of pregnancy! (I can’t believe how lucky I was to have my baby early! My due date was actually today – October 9. So instead of going into labor today, I have a healthy, eleven day old baby to snuggle. So much nicer!)

So since I don’t have any usual “after” shots for you today – here is a shot of what I have been tackling – being a mom to two kids! (And yes – Jackson just lost another tooth this past week. That makes three teeth gone so far!)

I am tackling everything I did not get done on Monday due to the fact that I was at the Orthopedic Surgeons office all day with my 14 year old who broke his wrist while skateboarding.

Tackle it Tuesday! I just found this blog and I love that name! Yesterday was Tuesday and I ran “Crafting Angels” at Church. We painted over 70 wooden toys which will go to LDS Humanitarian and be sent to children all over the world. We also tied 2 quilts to warm babies.

All in all a GOOD DAY!!

This week I’m tackling a football pillow that I’ve been putting off finishing for about 3 years. Talk about procrastination!

This is my first post with Tackle it Tuesday. I was running around getting things done today and said to myself, this would be a great post and call it Tackle it Tuesday, well I did a search on google (because I knew that someone else had probably already thought of it) and found you! Thank you so much for having this.

My first Tackle it Tuesday for my newest blog. Two little ones is a huge job in it-self, there is so much to tackle! I seem to now only be tackling my laziness that becomes a bigger job than it should be!

Cute picture! Yes, I actually tackled a big project–cleaning out and donating all, yes ALL, of the old baby clothes. It took the better part of an afternoon, but the extra closet space was worth the effort.

I’m back from vacation and off to the post office to pick up my two weeks worth of mail! Ugh!

Olivia is absolutely beautiful!! You’re doing the right thing by putting everything else aside. She won’t be 11 days old forever. Cherish this time!

Also, the sleeping could also be due to coming early. Amanda was born right at 38 weeks, and she slept a whole lot for 3 weeks!
