On July 1st, we Canadians celebrate Canada Day (originally called Dominion Day) to mark the anniversary of Canadian Confederation in 1867.
For a Canada Day Checklist – with tons of info about celebrating our Nation’s Birthday – check out About.com’s article, “Things You Need to Know to Celebrate Canada Day.” It even includes links to both the English and French lyrics to our anthem.
And for kids, Kaboose.com helps kids celebrate Canada Day with crafts, colouring pages and more. (Note – in honour of Canada Day I am including the “u” in the spelling of colour and honour.)
Happy Birthday Canada!!! 🙂

Happy Canada Day! When I was in high school I worked at a place called Organ Stop Pizza here in town. They would play the Canadian National Anthem all the time. I think it is very beautiful, and it was wonderful to watch the customers that were from there stand and sing with pride.
I hope that today is full of lots of fun!
