Supporting the troops…

Debbi, an army mom and a member of a support group for families & friends of active duty service members called Operation Mom, emailed us to ask us to let you know about an important project she is involved in.

She is requesting cards for the troops, to be included in packages they are sending overseas on March 24. (The project is ongoing – so if you don’t have them in for March 24, it is not a problem, Debbi will be continuing to send new packages.)

They need Easter and Thank You cards written to service members with a personal note, (due to security issues the envelopes must be unsealed & if you would like a response you can put your return address on the envelope or include your email address inside,) as well as blank cards (such as birthday, miss you, thank-you, etc) that the troops can use to send home to friends and family. As her post is named, “Hallmark doesn’t have stores in Iraq or Afghanistan,” so people are helping out by sending special cards that the troops can use to send some love home to their families.

We thought this was a beautiful way to support the troops and spread some love, and we are thrilled that there are thoughtful moms out there like Debbi remembering the many needs of the men and women who are sacrificing everything to serve.

If you are interested in learning more about Debbi’s project and where to send your cards, hop on over to her place.

Thank you for the mention. I would also like to remind folks that this will be an ongoing project so if they can’t get cards to us in time for this mailing they can send afterwards.
