Due to receding gums, I need a really soft toothbrush – I am talking softer than the softest you can buy.
So I brush my teeth with hot water to soften the bristles. It really works. Yes I will usually turn it to cold to rinse and all, but those nice, soft bristles help ease the pressure on the gums.
(Susan and I both have receding gums – not fun, let me tell you. In fact Susan had to have surgery where they cut out gum elsewhere and then stitched over the receding gum. She said it was the most painful, horrific pain she has ever endured.
Needless to say, I want to avoid a similar fate and she wants to avoid a repeat surgery and apparently over brushing and brushing too hard can lead to or worsen receding gums…so, hot water brushing it is!)

I brush way too hard and as a result have nerves exposed. I am definitely going to try this!
