Mommy Brain
I am a Christian stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of Natalie, age 9; Noah, age 7; Jonathan, age 6; and Josiah, age 4. I’ve been married to my husband Kevin for 11 years. When I?m not scaling mountains of laundry, wading through swamps of dirty dishes, attempting to keep our house clean (enough), and teaching my kids, you can usually find me with my nose in a book. Books are my addiction. I also like to crochet. My husband and I enjoy watching movies together - we LOVE Netflix - and we are hooked on the TV shows House, NCIS, Lost, Bones, and The Unit. I am also obsessed with American Idol, but my husband loves me anyway. Read our Exclusive Interview with Carrie from “Mommy Brain”. |
The Prattling Pastor’s Wife
I have been the wife of Dan the Preacher Man for the past 17 years. Dan is actually a bi-vocational pastor and band director. We have four great kiddos - 3 boys and one girl. I have been a SAHM for the past 13 years and plan to stay home until they all fly from the nest.I have many hobbies which include reading, writing, crochet (hopefully adding knitting soon), sewing, quilting, gardening, baking bread and soon I will be heading to culinary school. I do have a small cottage industry of baking bread for sale among friends and family. I would love to expand that to catering and involve the children in the process. We are contemplating buying and raising chickens in the near future, too - like I need one more thing, right?I am your typical mommy who struggles to keep up with the house and the children. We homeschool all of them and do our best to train them up in the Lord. Life around here is never dull. I hope you come visit us when you can! Blessings!!! Home is where you start from
My name is Jenny and I blog from So. Ca about our family, happenings, adventures and whatever interests me that I think might interest others. I homeschool our four children, three daughters ages 11, 9, 4 and one son age 6. I began blogging to keep in touch with family but discovered how much I love to write and how interesting this whole blog world is. Blogging has become a sort of creative outlet for me. We like to have a good laugh at ourselves at my house, so my posts are often funny, but sometimes they are just about what our day is like or what I am thinking about, what books we are reading. My life is mostly a crazy oneso my blog tracks the amazing chaos that occurs in a house with 4 kids, too many pets and the whole homeschool lifestyle. Come visit me, I love new blog-friends! and leave a comment so I know you stopped by. Read our Exclusive Interview with Jenny from “Home is where you start from”. |

The Well Drained Mind
This multi-contributor blog is about how to maintain a sense of self in this all encompassing life altering decision we have each made, for all manner of reasons, to homeschool. There are plenty of blogs out there devoted to being a Mom. And there are even plenty devoted to the challenges associated with homeschooling. But I think there are few where many voices can speak to how we can maintain and grow as individuals through this process. The goal of this blog is to help others in their pursuit of personal growth (be that spiritual, emotional, continuing education, physical, social etc…) whether that be through helpful insight, quotes, resources, stories of personal victories or probing questions that make us think about things from a new angle. The purpose of myblog is to explore topics of authentic Christian living as a homeschooling mom of little ones. I have a diet-restricted healthful lifestyle, work a part-time job as a researcher for an internationally syndicated TV program, and am a “Crunchy Conservative,” struggling with recent politics. On days when I fall far short of my idea of the Christian Mom model, I post at my (dark) sister site, Maddening Mom Fusings, where I honestly address issues of anger, that are oft hidden from blog pages–kept for the written journal tomes we hide under our beds! My middle name is “Open.” Read our Exclusive Interview with ModMomMuse from “Modern Mom Musings”. |
