Interview with 5intow from “Delighting in His Richness”

Blogging has opened up an opportunity for me to share all that God is teaching me through this exciting time in my life. Sometimes it is stress relieving to write it out. I enjoy writing and pray that my thoughts written out will encourage someone else in their day as well.

I had a newsy, keep-up-with-the-distant-family blog for a couple years, and my new “real” blog I started recently, January 2008.

Each day brings so many new experiences, thoughts, growth, and joy. On a weekly basis I share something God has taught me through a specific verse; homeschool experiences, thoughts, curriculum, and planning; everyday happenings around our house with our 5 plus 12; and a smattering of other ideas about nutrition, healthy living, walking with Christ, marriage and family.

I do enjoy chatting with visitors through comments. It challenges me to explore a topic further and helps in verbalizing questions some people just didn’t know how to ask.

Time spent on blog reading and writing is something I am constantly aware of. I could easily veg out in front of my computer for hours, but fortunately my many responsibilities pull me away before too long. I probably spend an average of 45 minutes a day on blogs, usually in about 9 different 5 minute segments!

My family. As I look at my past, I feel so much pressure to succeed, and as I look at my husband and children each day I realize that they love me just as I am and continually inspire me to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ to be the best wife, mom, and teacher that I can.

Blogging has allowed me a more intimate peak into other families. They offer such encouragement that we are not in this daily journey (and sometimes daily battle . . .) alone. So many other moms across this country and around the world have the same priorities and desires to bless their families and raise them for God’s glory. I pray that my blog does this for others as well, encouraging readers to keep on, for in due time we will reap a bountiful harvest if we do not faint.
