My Educating Mama blog allows me to delve into two subjects about which I am passionate — mothering and home education. Blogging allows me to connect with other mothers, and it encourages me to keep a sense of humor.

I have been writing lesson plans and blogging for Suite101.com since February 2007, and I have had an homeschooling and mothering blog since January 2008.

I blog about homeschooling, trying to find balance, working from home and, especially, the joys and challenges of mothering.

I love to read Anna Quindlen’s Newsweek column, The Last Word .
