Aroma of Joy

I blog because I LOVE meeting new people and making new friends. Blogging makes it easy to connect with women all over the world. I am encouraged in many ways (as a wife, a mom, a Christian, a woman….) and hopefully I am able to encourage others as well!

I have been blogging since December of 2007.

I blog about all kinds of things. Sometimes I participate in a weekly meme (themed post) or just whatever comes to my mind and heart. Many of my posts are about my family and our adventures, many are about my Christian walk, some are just for fun……I don’t know that there is a pattern, I just think my blog is an expression of my entire personality.

There are many blogs that I love to read! I have found that I prefer blogs by women of faith. I went to a secular site the other day and was rather shocked at what I found. I just don’t have the time or desire for that!

As I myself am a bit of a “newbie” I don’t know that I have great advice except to visit as many blogs as you can to discover the ones that you connect with. I don’t like to make my posts too long and if I do write a long post I try to balance it with some that are shorter. My feeling is, just be REAL. People respond to that!

ABSOLUTELY! Comments are wonderful and that is how you really connect with others!

Yes, many of my friends and family read my blog. It’s funny but I think they “hear” me better in my blog posts than if I were to speak to them (my kids and husband). Blogging is a great communication tool, especially with friends and family you don’t see often.

I don’t have a set time or place that I blog. I am lucky enough to have my own laptop so I am flexible with computer time.

I probably spend too much time on my blog. If I’m not careful it can take over my day. I have tried to set limits on the time I spend and maybe even use blog time to reward myself for getting other things done.

I haven’t discovered anything like that yet.

I don’t remember how I first heard about blogging.

The women of Proverbs 31 ministries blogs were the first blogs I ever read.

Oh many things inspire me. My faith, the weather, my family, new experiences, past experiences….

No.

Blogging has brought some incredible women into my life. It has given me the courage to follow God in new ways. One tangible example is my decision to attend a Women’s writing/speaking conference. It was through blogging that I met women to travel with, to room with and through the prayers and encouragement of my “blog friends” I gained the confidence to go. Also, when my Dad became very ill my family was lifted up in prayer all across the world! What an incredible gift!! On the other hand, it has given me the opportunity to pray for others, witness miracles and rejoice in my Lord and Savior! Blogging has really enhanced my life!
