Pursuing Simplicity

Years ago I began journaling after suddenly becoming a single parent with a four year old son. My heart cried out to Jesus through my writings. Years rocked on and the Lord brought me an awesome man to marry who had three incredible children. They had lost their wife and mom to cancer. I had always sent email devotions to our singles group but after marrying found that I did not have the time to devote to writing like my former life allowed. Through the process of becoming a single parent and then a blended family I learned lots of great frugal ways to stretch a dollar. I also learned to rely on Christ more than I have ever done in my life.

I felt an intense desire to pick up blogging late last year. I have been a faithful reader to some of the most popular mom blogs for years. It has been such an awesome experience to share from my heart and see that all across this world their are those that share the same ideals and passions and I do.

I began my first blog in 2005 but did not have the time to devote to it. I recommitted myself to blogging late in 2007 and have seen the Lord bless my blog tremendously.

Raising teenagers, saving money, CVS savings, Frugality, Christ’s faithfulness, homekeeping, helpful hints, recipes, organizational ideas and finances

In the Midst of It, http://www.moneysavingmom.com, Rocks in My Dryer, Notes from a Cottage Industry, and http://www.thepioneerwoman.com to name a few. I have a huge list in Google Reader!

Stick with it. If you have a passion and desire to share with others this is a great way to do so. However, I do not share my last name and tend to be more private with some things than most. I would certainly moderate your comments so you can approve beforehand. I have received a few doozies that were spam and I highly recommend moderation.

Yes. I love to do so.

Some do but I have kept it a low profile from the family and friends. I have one dear friend that has started her own blog after reading my own. I know I have a sister that reads it occasionaly. I know her friends read it more!

Either very early in the morning or in the evening. We have an office that I use.

I work in information technology so I had heard about this quite some time ago, before it became the ‘thing’ to do.

The very first site that I started reading was JoelComm.com. He went to my church and I found his blog interesting. My very first blog that I remain very faithful to read each and every day without fail is In the Midst of It.

Life! Seeing my four teens grow up into responsible, God fearing young adults, my precious husband, spending time in the mountains, and realizing that each day is a gift to be savored and enjoyed.
