Interview with Lauren Mayer from “Psycho Super Mom”

To vent my frustration, and to have an outlet to complain; but also to help other moms laugh at our lives. Oh, and I also blog so that I can humiliate my children - they’re convinced that’s the sole motivator of everything I do in life anyhow!

I’ve been blogging for about 4 months - but I’ve been keeping a journal for over 35 years . . . .

I blog about my kids, my husband (alias ‘Husband 2.0′), my dog, my body hair, and my life . . .

The best advice I received was to write, write, write, and then edit - it’s a lot easier to pare something down than to come up with a perfect essay.

I LOVE getting comments - I’ve only gotten a few, and it’s great to get feedback.

My friends read it and say it makes them laugh - my mother has gotten hip to email, but the blogging thing still weirds her out (sort of feels like reading my diary, I guess - but the good part is that now I can write about her!)

Blogher

I blog in my home office, usually at 5:30 a.m. (I give myself a few minutes of sanity before my kids get up)

I heard one of the founders of Blogher speak at a conference and thought it sounded really cool.

My kids inspire me - and what’s great about having the blog is that when they do something really annoying, instead of getting upset, I try to think, Okay, how can I turn this episode into a blog entry?

Blogging has helped me keep a sense of humor about my life, and has probably saved my kids at least from being grounded for the rest of their life!
