I talk about this on the welcome post of Babies Gotta Have It, actually. After my daughter was born, I started making little movies for my friends and family showing the baby doing funny little things, and I realized how much I enjoyed it. So I thought I’d start a video blog in which I made fun and funny short little movies reviewing, recommending, and demonstrating all kinds of different baby products that have made my life easier, healthier and more fun.

I’ve just started! That’s why I’m so excited about it! When the baby turned six months old it kind of dawned on me that she wasn’t going anywhere! This is my life now! It’s a wonderful life, but it’s different from the life I had before she came. I’ve been a theater actress, primarily traveling around the country to work, for the past fifteen years. I can’t travel in the way I used to…and I’m not satisfied creatively by commercial auditions where I literally have to play a bathroom door at times! I realized I needed to find new creative outlets that would involve my daughter…so I started playing around with the video camera and here we are.

I link to several of them on my vlog. I like Green & Clean Mom, Cool Mom Picks and Mamanista a lot. But I’m really just learning what’s out there. I know I’ll find lots more!

LOL! Do you have any advice for me? I’m really just learning about it. And the video blog format seems to be even more unexplored so I think we’re all figuring this out together.

Yes! Just for the conversation alone! I am spending far too much time alone in my apartment with my cat and my baby! Talk to me please! ![]()

As of now all my videos are shot in my apartment. But I’m really looking forward to going on location with the baby and demonstrating all the wonderful products that I can’t live without on the streets of New York. I do the editing and posting after my daughter is in bed…or while she’s playing with some of the must-have toys I’ll show you on the site!

I’m inspired by my daughter I guess. Wow that sounds corny. But she is literally the reason I’m doing this vlog. To spend time with her. To share with all the other new moms out there what our experience has been like moving through these last seven months together. I also just like to talk and meet people! Even virtually. I’m inspired to make friends!

I do some work for a mom-run website that my sister-in-law and brother are operating called Movie Noodle. It’s a fantastic site where you can customize and buy movie themed gift baskets and include a DVD of your choice with the package. It’s especially great for guys–there are lots of guy-themed packages like baseball and basketball and horror. Really fun!

Well, I’m still definitely in the learning process. I’ve found it really empowering in a way. It’s fun to get in front of the camera and not care if my hair is right or my make-up looks good or if I’ve lost the baby weight yet. It’s not about that. It’s about connecting to people. Yeah I’m talking about baby products, not ending global-warming or bringing about world peace. But it’s still possible to make a connection to people about other things that really are important in our lives right now. And for new moms, our babies, and what we surround them with, are what’s really important right now.
