Interview with Lynnae from “Being Frugal.net”
“Being Frugal.net”

I began blogging as a way to hold myself accountable for my financial decisions. My blogging has blossomed into so much more, though.
Now it’s my creative outlet and a good way to connect with other like-minded people. I enjoy writing, responding to emails and comments…basically every aspect of blogging.

I’ve been blogging for almost a year. I need to start thinking of a way to celebrate my first bloggiversary!

I blog about frugal living and getting out of debt. I run a weekly feature called Tightwad Tuesday, where I share a frugal tip. I also recently finished a three part series on budgeting.
On Sundays I break away from my normal routine and post about whatever God puts on my heart that day. It might have to do with finances….and it might not.

Gather Little by Little, I’ve Paid for This Twice Already, Nutrition Fitness Life, andI’m an Organizing Junkie are four of my favorites at the moment. I have over 100 blogs in my feed reader, though, and my favorites change weekly. I think I’m addicted to blog reading.

Be yourself. That’s the most important thing. Readers love bloggers who are genuine.
After that, jump into the blogging world with both feet. Read blogs, comment on blogs, and get to know other bloggers. That’s what makes blogging worthwhile. The relationships you build.

Absolutely. I only wish I had more time to devote to responding to comments.

At first not many of them did. But my mom sent out my blog address with her Christmas letter, so I have no idea how many of them are reading now.

Most of the time I write my blog posts in the evening after the kids are in bed. I like to get cozy on the couch with a blanket, my laptop, and maybe a cup of tea. I find that I’m most creative when the house is quiet and I can just let my mind wander.

I find that music really inspires me, especially worship music. There’s just something about Chris Tomlin singing Amazing Grace that just brings me to tears thinking about how truly blessed I am to have a Lord that loves me and cares about the details in my life.
When I’m down about life, when I’m stuck for a blog topic, or when I’m just feeling blah, I find I can put in some worship tunes, and suddenly all is right with the world.

I recently started another blog, Lynnae’s Bookshelf, where I review books. Most of the books are Christian fiction, but I review other books occasionally, too. And I love to do giveaways!

Blogging has had a huge impact on my life. I never really knew how much I enjoyed writing until I started blogging. I’ve been encouraged a lot by the other members of the M-Network, the personal finance blogger network I’m a part of. They’ve helped me out in so many ways, and I owe a lot of my blog’s success to them.
Blogging has also opened up opportunities for me. It provided a source of income when my husband was out of work, and it’s allowed me to continue to stay at home with my children when money is tight.
Blogging has also positively impacted my relationship with Christ, if that makes any sense. Since I blog about finances and frugality, I am constantly reminded of how many blessings I truly have. And I find many times after writing a post, I am just praising God for all he has provided in my life.
