Joy in the Journey

I blog about mommy stuff, and mishaps and happenings in a foreign country! How long has your family been missionaries? We are newbies. We have been in Indonesia just over 7 months. Right now, we are studying language for 1 year, so that later on, our ministry will be more effective. What type of ministry are you involved with?My husband is a pilot/mechanic. We work for an organization called MAF, Mission Aviation Fellowship. You can check out this website for more information about MAF http://www.maf.org or for more about our ministry and lives check out: www.maffamily.org?forney.

It’s a city of around 6 million people. When we are finished studying language we’ll move to the island of Kalimantan, to begin my husband’s aviation work there. What are your biggest challenges raising a family overseas?Joy in the JourneyChallenges…hmmm. Probably similar to raising kids in the States, discipline, patience, worry, you name it. One thing that is difficult is to be away from family, I work really hard at keeping the kids close to their grandparents and cousins.

Favorites…wow, that could take a while. I’d have to say my all time favorites are, of course, 5 Minutes for Mom, Everyday Mommy, Enjoy the Journey, and Princesses, Dogs, and Chaos.

I love to chat with visitors through the comments, I have met so many amazing people!!

Yes, although I’m a little choosy about whom I tell. My mom reads my blog, so that’s always in the back of my mind too!

I really enjoy a yahoo group that I’m a part of it’s called Making it Home from the creators of Making it Home Magazine at http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/MakingitHomeMagazine.

Ok, I’m strange…I wake up at 4am to blog. If I don’t do it then, it doesn’t happen!! I usually spend about one and a half hours per day to write my blog and check everyone else’s. Yikes, that’s a long time!

From my friend Brenda at http://www.seriousmoms.com She has a great website, and I was curious about the whole blogging thing. I was hooked after that.

God’s Word…that’s more inspiration than I could ever use up. Also, from the funny things that happen in my every day life, and from all the amazing women who share their lives and struggles through their wonderful blogs.
